Ok here's my question .
lets say you want to mix trax not by switching intro/outro, not beatmix and other methods but mixing the melodies . for example you got the melodies on both trax played in the same scale (C major or whatever) in theory and from my experience in live music it works, but i haven't heard anyone do this kind of thing .
will it work ?

It works, but in order to do this you must first beatmatch the tracks, only then will the mix sound good.

but hey...
if u beatmatch, which means pitching the track, u can't rally mix in the way that Leon suggests, couse pitching means changing the track's musical scale...
get what i mean ???

but if the tracks have the same bpm you don't have to pitch them.

I haven't yet met 2 trax with exactly the same BPM, computers changa a bit in BPM, also you can know what key your track si, what key the other track in and if you change pitch how much will it shift.
also the CDJ's offer you a Master Tempo function in which you only change tempo and not the pitch of the track.

You sure like your CDJ's Boris .
so let's see it's 350-400 $ for CDJ's (i don't remeber is it one or a set) plus i need a decent mixer , man we're being screwed !

if u mix with CDs or DATs this can all be done (by timestretching the trak on a computer or sampler) but it all requires a lot of clever thougth and calculations NIO:DGU?@?HIEH!IOO
perhaps you can match them to the same scale, and do a DAT style mix, just cut one out and drop the 1st beat of the next track in where it should come (even if they are different tempos).hey, Leon, vinyl is still cool mate, i use numark TT2s, ill probably use CDs at the same time sometime wen i can be bothered IKHDIUH@:dp[eod@LE

Well, you can experiment with tracks on the computer a whole lot.

Acid Pro is a very powerfull tool for a DJ...

You can use it as a mixer just to see if pitch shifting accurately sounds good, alter the tracks a bit so you can mix them well, and so on.
