what is funny, i met many dj's who trade music. i think for dj's and artists there is no rules...
and about this russiam dude, why you all not just go to http://www.psyshop.ru/albums.shtml and buy some "official" mp3 music........

AS Junya knows i respect him a lot... and so his music... well i suppose what tracks went to the net... too bad but one thing im very sure... even if we got the "newest" tracks... come on lets be honest... theres more eskimo tracks... even better man... u know...
and for the stimulus dj... what ever... u know u made a mistake... so come on ... think what the hell would u think if a special track like the ones that junya discovered are on th net... it is not just about music... when someone do a track... that guy puts all his feelings.. lots of hrs... just to... se ppl at dancefloors smiling... and so if that artists is ur friend and he gives u music lucky you... otherwise... try to respect...

What a bunch of hypocrites. Given the chance to have some fresh unreleased tracks by your most favorite artist, you will jump at the chance. That includes everyone here. No matter if you do it all the time, or only once, or who you share with...90% of the people here are guilty.
Let me tell you another thing, many of you are wrong. Although I don't have time to deal with the unreleased mafia anymore, I used to search hard for unreleased tracks by my favorite artists. Why?
1) There is a fallacy that all the good unreleased tracks will eventually be released. Yeah, that might be true if you are into the more popular forms of psy-trance which can actually make a little money. What if you want to get your hands on the old Crop Circles and Etnica tracks that will never be released? How about the hundreds of tracks by all the current underground psy-trancers (Alrune, GOW, etc)? I guarantee you most of them will NEVER be released. No money there.
Sometimes I have directly contacted my favorite artists, like Paps, Magus, etc. People who make weirder music, that is not so commercially viable. I ask them why they have so many great tracks floating around the scene, but not much is being released. I'm always told the same thing: "Labels didn't want to release my music because it was too weird." So if I hadn't gotten some of their unreleased tracks, I never would have heard these tracks.
2) Stop fucking bitching. Learn to adapt. You will not get rid of the unreleased scene, and you should learn to take advantage of it. Let me talk about some underground artists, like GOW, Kindzadza, Fungus Funk, etc. They started to get gigs before they even had many tracks released. I do believe some of those Danes were even booked several timer per month, and they still have not released any significant amount of music. How do you think they became so popular? Go look on Soulseek, talk to the teenagers, see how much these groups are loved. IT IS ALL BECAUSE OF THE SPREAD OF THEIR UNRELEASED TRACKS. No doubt some of this spreading was done by the artists themselves, because the tracks you can find are often low quality.
3) All traders are not thieves. Before MP3s and P2P networks became so popular, I used to trade tracks via mail on CD-R & MD. At that time, perhaps by coincidence, most of the people I traded with also purchased a lot of CDs. Having these unreleased tracks did not stop any of us from purchasing the tracks once they were released, in better quality. Desiring unreleased music only shows that the person is really crazy about those particular artists, not all traders are thieves.
4) Ethics. Anyway, I would guess most traders never buy music, but this is also the case with released music. This is a scene-wide problem with personal ethics and shitty distribution.
5)DJs and artists and A&Rs should stop posting Top 10s with unreleased music. What is the point? It is only for ego gratification...to say "Ha, ha, look at the slamming music I got that you'll never have!" If you don't want us "ordinary people" lusting after your secret music, then keep it a fucking secret.
Some people will make the excuse that they post Top 10s to show people what will be coming soon. That's a bunch of horseshit, because you can just do normal promotion for this. See the Promotional Forum for examples.
Summary
I am not trying to make an excuse for stealing artists' tracks, of course, just saying that artists should accept the unreleased scene's existence, use it as a free promotional tool, and keep their tracks very secret if they don't want others to have them (don't share!). And don't paint all traders with the same brush. Just like anything else in life, things are not so black and white. |

cubensis - otherwise well said - but i disagree with this point. I for one like to go to parties where the music playing is stuff I have not heard before. If a DJ has unreleased tracks on his tops then its an indication that this dj will probably be fun to listen to since I have not heard those tracks. Plus It need not necc. be an ego thing either. Some people may just want to share with other people what they think is good music - so what if its unreleased - its something you can look forward to. CHeers mate.

Hmmm...I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but SynSUN (http://www.synsun.com.ua). is about to release their album on Kagdila Records. I hope they don't cause SynSUN any trouble because their album is spectacular, from what I've heard of the sound clips.

i don't mind dj's playing unreleased tracks on the dance floor, but putting it up on the Top 10 only makes you feel that they're trying to put up a "God" act! |

The reason for posting our listing is mainly promotional - to give our crowd a taste of what's comming, get them interested and hopefuly excited. When a label DJ/Artist posts a listing where the trax are unreleased, they are usualy signed to his label or most likely to another label, and this is the best indication to what's comming out soon. This is unlike a 'regular' Tops poster, who is more likely to post 'illegal' material. this is not to say that label-related personnel doesn't post 'floating' tracks, but it is more likely that material such as this is obtained in a proper way (directly from artists or between labels as promotional material).

I agree. I have NEVER dowloaded an unreleased track, so maybe there is something about this "cool thing" with unreleased tracks that I don't understand. What I like is to see top 10 lists of released tracks. Then I can go buy it if I have the same taste as the dj posting the list... When I look at the top 10 lists these days, it seems like all psytrancers are just a bunch of kids downloading stuff and never buy anything.
About the Russians... I think most russians don't have enough money to buy CDs, even if they are djs. How to solve that problem is another question... You find the same problem in many poor countries...

well dear junya : after kagdila guy sayed his side in the story u see it's not so black and white. but the one who gave his music from the start is u. so if u are so worried about your music dont give it to any guy u dont know. it's very nice to cry about it after that. u should know better who u choose to give your music too. it's simple as that.
and about those unreleased music well it's the "cool" thing to have unrls music, isnt it? it's just like a game about who have the biggest dick.
