OK but,
with just that '3 band max' you can still take away all the psychedelic mids and make it sound like clubby boom tshhh on a big PA.

i am aware now.
I started this thread because a lot of producers start out as DJ
I'm having a change of hart.
I think now, if you've been a DJ(not that i label myself as one) exposes you to a lot of different dance music and you learn what the audience react to,, and that in itself is an advantage as a composer, but,
my DJ friend , when he started producing, he knew exactly what he wanted his kick to sound like, and exactly what he wanted his bass to sound like. and that is exactly what he is accustomed to. So he had no innovation to sound extraordinary.

DJing is however,, fun
