2 CDJ100S of pioneer,and an old BST mixer, but I'm boring with that, I wants to become a Digitally DJ, I mean Laptop Alienware with an Allen&Heath Xone3D !

I have:
2x1210 mk2's
A 3 channel gemini mixer of some sort with 1 working fader :s
And DT100's (gotta love the bulk!)
If anyone has good knowledge of cd players could u tell me what's more convenient for mixing psy trance. Im looking at the 500s's cause they are good, cheap, compact and reliable but so many people are using 800's/1000's... are they really necassary for mixing psy trance? besides the vinyl emulation and all the lazy cueing features what's so great about them? |

with the 800's/1000's you got so many ways to do a mix, and with a good mixer your mix will be perfect, but you don't really need this i f you ask me, you can buy a pioneer 100's( i hate them) or the new line of Gemini frontload cdplayers and your mix still be perfect...
it just that the 800's/1000's is the world standard cd player, you got have at least two
800's/1000's and one or more 100's on your dj table

the vinyl emulation and cueing are not why people value these decks so highly (at least, not me or my buds). they are very reliable, hold the pitch very well, and have a nice feel. they are great for mixing fast music with precision.
now u may think this is strange, but sometimes i mix on LSD, and in this state i can tell quite easily when a pitch is wobbling, but with the Pioneers the pitch never wobbles.
im not sure what you mean by 500s... do you mean the CDI500? if so dont get that, i used to own them and they cant hold a pitch! |

I like the light weight of the Pioneer CDJ-100s. Easy to handle them.
I personally use CDJ-100s and Behringer DX626 mixer. Need a new mixer with XLR8 outputs. The DX626 only has RSA outs.
pioneers are very common in psy. Anyone still playing DATs?? hehe ..
