I think its cool to make any sound you want. at the moment were working on hip hop, dubstep, techno, progressive, psytrance, and even a DnB track. Its great to keep your mind fresh and experiment with different sounds and ideas. every sound has its place. and techno cannot replace psytrance. it can build up to it. but it cant replace the powers progressive and psy has in my opinion. Its only part of the journey. and it can actually get quite boring. techno doesnt have the story telling element that progressive and psytrance has.
but I wish people would understand that all sounds and genres have their place in the spectrum. there needs to be a proper balance of sounds and a continuing progression to truly take people on a journey.

well, the point is: they want to play techno in psytrance scene, can u understand the point? the problem is not the genre, is the attitude, they want to introduce "minimal techno" in psychedelic parties, because they like techno and have the brilliant idea of make this genre and show the psy people that minimal sounds better than full on, thats the attitude, the idea what i have to you understand is that live sets who changes to techno, never had a real good psy act, people who changes his mind that quickly are just fakers, is not the change, many artist do other genres like hux flux, hallucinogen, future sound of london etc, but they follow the same line of they hearts the dont do full on and 5 sec after do drum and bass, can u understand?
the 80% of people who likes electronic music are bad educated and stupid people, with all respect, the follow the flow of tendences

All this fragmentation of Electronic music is silly.
This oldie will tell you the whole story
Funny how one track will echo through Goa Trance classics (California Sunshine), Techno classics (Der Dritte Raum) and surely a lot of House classics as well.Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Techno can definitely tell a story.
The difference is that with psytrance, the tracks are complete works of art which each tell a story on their own.
With techno, the tracks are components that the DJ assembles into one piece of music that tells one big story... if the DJ can do it, that is.

you guys are weird.. not only lord_bhairava but and the rest that posted something similar with years.. you don't have any idea realy. techno was always hidden in psychedelic trance and other music genres. goa trance: you define goa trance strictly as psychedelic trance made from well known psy producers exclusively when the first "goa trance" , the music being played in Goa ,produced by pure techno artists even before 90s.. Another thing I see is that everyone mention goa before 2000 and full on after it.. when those years from 98 to 2002 psy trance had heavy doses of industrial techno, progressive tribal house and minimalism!do you forger x-dream,spirallianz, the delta, mos, psychaos, all atomic records stuff (which some times was releasing pure techno), spirit zone, d.drum, novatekk label group, the first digital structures and baluns records releases??even some iboga records releases plus many more underground labels! full on was after all those big things! And all this people who play techno on psy trance events have the same feeling with me, that techno reminds them that big things I mention! you could easily mix many of those tunes with nowdays minimal techno! same vibes!
