Reading Dr. Borris' thread made me think - how many times have I seen people commenting on the Top 10 forum: "We don't like your Tops because your styles are all over the place - Night, Morning, Techno, and OMG, Progressive!"

Personally, I play all these different styles - Dark (probably my favorite), psy-morning (Sirius Isness, Visual Paradox), psy-techno (anything off Horns and Hoofs or, say, Psyristor gets me going) and yes, even progressive. I don't see any contradictions here - do you? I just like good psychedelic music, no matter what style.

I don't usually play different styles in the same set - each one is good for a different time/place/vibe... I'd like to hear if there are other DJ's who like to branch out and play different kinds of music.

cheers

I play also all those different styles you already named (psytech, fullon, morning, progressive)

I do blend the styles in the same set, though it depends of course greatly in the lenght, time and the place of playing.

Most important thing for me is that it suits well to the "musical plot" of the evening/night/event

My newest promo mix goes from Ticon - Don't tell me I sing like a robot all the way to Sesto Sento - Drive to Drive and I even think it happens quite fluently.

But like dimitry said before, I listen to good psychedelic music, no matter what style myself too

I agree with you, good music is good music, no matter what style it is, too bad some people don´t get that... =( I play just like you guys, mix and blend stuff. It works nicely

Have a great week!

morning - protoculture, commercial hippies, rinkadink, visual paradox, et
as well as proggy
psy techno
scando sounds
day time and chill out

i cannot ignore what i like - and u wanna share that with ppl. but there is also music which i like 2 dance to, but prefer other djs 2 play. everything is for consumption - enjoyment and work out on different levels.           www.vertigo-records.com

I used to be into one line styles when i first started djing wanted me whole set to sound like one track.
But i think that a mix of styles is the best especially if u are playing a long set.
Its a proper journey and can sound less monotionus.
Variety is the spice of life.

Same with me.. I try to keep my sets various, because i simply like various music styles.. there are lots of great tracks in each different style, so why deprive the crowd from these great beats? all together... as a big happy family, holding hand in hand.. for a long time.

as long as your track blending is good, there shouldn't be a problem..           "VA - REWIRED" OUT NOW !! (techtrance invasion) ---> http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/86303/forum/9
