i was wondering one of thix days...eg:a dj is playing is set, or an artist is doing live act...and at a certain time he must go , cause there are more djs to play.but at that moment he got such a vibe with the crowd and he is "breaking" everything...my question is, should he go out or should he be given more time...notice that not always get such a vibe but in that particular time he interacts with the crowd very much...so what´s your opinion?

Trying to keep playing past your time slot - if someone is waiting to take your place - is simply rude, unless you talk it over with the person who goes on next. And even then it's a sign of bad taste, imo. Just let it go - the dude playing after you is probably just as good a DJ as you are.

Of course when you KNOW the person who plays after you really sux - which may happen at small parties - then by all means, fight for the decks.

But sometimes we all want the DJ to just go on n on.....

That time the energy should be realised and he should not stop. Its what i feel.

Otherwise next DJ should be continuing the flow right on..

The lineup what is decided cannot be changed
as someone said rightly
please do not think that YOU are the best and the Dj who is to replace you cannot maintain that energy level and keep up the vibes.
You are worng in that case.

And no, you cannot speak up to the next Dj and request him to allow you to eat up his time slot. As a friendly gesture he will say yes to you, but defi will not like it.

This can be done only if the orgniaser wants to, but imo, the organiser should only alter the line up if he feels that the current Dj is fuckin up the party at that time (many good Dj's have a bad day) and he may request the other Dj to take over and get the energy level back to high, but defi one should not prolong the Dj as he is playing well.

Mmmmm....

I dont believe that a Dj that hears the strong vibes the one before him sends and creates, will wanna mess that up, or even play a totaly different tune, and maybe even be delited to get up, and do his set, when the cround is all cheerfull, and happy...

maybe it even encourges him to play a different set than he meant to, but i dont believe that he will not keep up with that great vibe...

Just like Dj would hate it if the one before it gives a bad set, or creates the wrong vibe, that much he'll love it if the Dj playing before him "warm up" the cround for him, in such a good way...
The times that r set for each Dj shouldn't be changed, maybe in rare occasions, for the audience pleasure as well, it is a bummer to come to hear a party to hear a certain Dj and then realize that his time got cut off....           When the fuck r u gonna get sick, of that lousy TECHNOSHIT?!

I completely agree. Obviously, DJs and Artists can make sugestions, but it´s the organizer´s party.

just a small story ,2 weeks ego i was pleyng in germany ,party was good ,cool energis end cool music.
eny whey the second dj after me was this guy not a big name but was very good end i meen very good (i didnt stop dancing...) he was that good that the one thet came after him (a well known german dj)just let him pley anuther hour end a half !!! ,so i think it is the best example for how djs should act they must do what is the best for the party!

keep it real..

Well i think that we've got to respect the line-up. Everything is already define, all the dj's/artists have their time to play, no less no more. The important point is that everybody must follow the same rules, everybody at the same level ...
Anyway, i understand Huda-g's point of view but a dj knows how long he's got to play and, in a way, it's up to him to build his set and to prepare the end so that the next one could go on in the best conditions
I agree with Alien-ated

I don't think its good to be so rigid with the lineup that it hurts. A good party is the main goal...stick to the times, but better to let the DJ before you go on an hour or so if they're really on the vibe (with promoters permission), for the good of the party - and your set! - cos it allows you to start a little slower/groovier/whateva to build the energy up again, once the DJ before's dropped off a little - which'll usually happen within an hour...

I guess better still if all DJs plan their journeys to their time slots nicely. But overrunning your slot is annoying as ~$*% to the DJ after you, you have to BE asked...DJntelmen&women

Interesting topic, whats your thoughts
