Following the "DJ Animation" issue, I would like to hear your oppinions/suggestions regarding the attitude of the party promoters towards DJs.

All the Line-up balagan (mess), delays, transportation, payments and general conditions you feel are problematic or just need to be addressed.

Post'em...

God is not a DJ - God is the promoter or actually the bouncer at the door or a selector.. ;-)

I think that except few venues ( that are 80% fine ) most of the organizers wont even understand the question u just asked..

well as a "dJ", I want to have these elements before I even
think of actually coming and dj'ing in yer partee:
1. A chair!
2. Food.
3. Lots of drinkswater etc.
4. Ride from my place to the party place and back. (when my set is over.)
5. Protection from the sun (project).
6. $500.
7. Security guards. (who make sure your chair isn't taken by anyone else)
8. Cable TV. (for those boring moments)
9. A flashlight (for dark night hours)
10. A mobile toilet (why leaving your stand when u can't stand it and dying to..)
11. Stuntseautiful actresses who come to the dj each 30mins and tell him how cool he is.. :)
12. A case with good music. (don't have audio cds ready, yet.)
13. Couple of CDJs and a decent mixer. (Gemini's good.)
14. Two tickets to Cyprus. (for relaxing after the party)
15. and a local dj to teach me some more dj'ing tricks cause actually I'm not a dj at all... ;)

that's all. by following the terms above I promise to consider playing in your party.

1. A chair! - u can forget about that unless youre playing a bar and take one from the bar your self.
2. Food. - forget that too unless u bring sandwitches from home.
3. Lots of drinkswater etc. - usually ok but in too many cases u have to begg
4. Ride from my place to the party place and back. (when my set is over.) - Strech limo will be fine?
5. Protection from the sun (project). - after 10 post set headaches and a sunstroke u'll stop asking.
6. $500. - $5000 is more like it...:)
7. Security guards. (who make sure your chair isn't taken by anyone else) - from experience, the biggest security guard will take your chair and there will be nothing u can do to move him.
8. Cable TV. (for those boring moments) - Good Idea!
9. A flashlight (for dark night hours) - a must in every self respecting dj case.
10. A mobile toilet (why leaving your stand when u can't stand it and dying to..) - thats what empty water botteles r for.
11. Stuntseautiful actresses who come to the dj each 30mins and tell him how cool he is..  - and give him a BJ while she's there.
12. A case with good music. (don't have audio cds ready, yet.) - usually helps.
13. Couple of CDJs and a decent mixer. (Gemini's good.) - gemini's BAD! - also dont forget a table to put all that...
14. Two tickets to Cyprus. (for relaxing after the party) - y not?
15. and a local dj to teach me some more dj'ing tricks cause actually I'm not a dj at all... - i'll be happy to guide u through.

you guys are talking about D.J-ing, not playing king for a few hours right? :)

A good sound system, a nice vibe, and dancing people. and my music.

that's all i need.
