Any audio editor will do ... sound forge, wavelab, cool edit etc ... as long as you can press "record"
It has been discussed here in the past, so you might want to do a search if you got some more questions. They have probably been answered before.
Good luck

i use microsoft movie maker (present in most basical windows packet):2 chinch from mixer to one jack in pc selecting 128 kbps quality and it sounds pretty good to my ears (don't have that mp3 or minidisc flatsound feeling), maybe someone can correct me here....? ( just take care not to get in with a excessively high level or you'll have distortion!!!) psy bye |

i guess with wav format your simply going too far for such a software: you only have preset quality standards: low- mid- high- and other (other means choosing from 6.5 to 128 kbps), 128 kbps is stated as quality same as cd.
i use a "vinyl AC 97 audio (wave)" as sound perifery: guess is the soundcard(??) maybe this doesn't allow wav format (?)
what's difference between wav and kilobytepersecond actually?

can't tell it in english in italian you find this in the preset choices: "audio di limpidezza pari a quella di un cd (stereo a 128 kbps)" |

mp3 : no way, gimme back the wwwwoooooooo basss,
you can best realize the lameness of mp3 with classical music or d'n'b or by how fast your neighbours come knocking at your door: better the bass sooner the stress ;-)
@tsabeat : think he means you can record cd's with such bad quality that it sound worst than mp3
@absolut0: stereo 128 isn't 128x2=256?

Actually, I dont really think you have speakers who will go below 20Hz - Also, I dont believe you will be hearing it either - Dont worry about that part
Human hearing is also aprox 20Hz-20KHz
