Hi people. I m into buying a nice dj midi contoler to use together with Traktor and a laptop. I think some of them will need an audio card sending outputs into this mixer inputs. The following issues seem to be really important and should be taken into this topics discussion:

1 - the device should be also an audio card so that you can have separate channels as outputs and headphones cue signal
2 - the device should have the same design as a regular mixer
3 - the midi learn function factory mapped for Traktor software
4 - well built body and solid sliders and faders
5- cost vs benefits

Here are some of the brands and models I m taking into consideration. Please let me know your opinions and self experiences with any of these devices:

The Native Instruments devices won t be taken into consideration once they are more audio card only.

I listed products of a wide range of quality and price just to amplify the discussion.

I hope this topic is usefull to a lot of people.

Peace.

why doing it with a mixer looking gear when you can make it work as well with a midi keyboard?
at least the day you want to produce your own sound you won't have to spend more money for a keyboard !!

konw ppl using traktor 3 with m-audio ozonic:
-in 5 minutes you have assigned all the knobs (8max), faders (9max), and buttons(37 keys+ ~10buttons) you need (to match songs pitchbend with pitchbend wheel is very nice !)
-2,5 ms delay
-96 khz sampling
-2 stereo outputs
-1 stereo input
-1 inst input
-1 normal/phantom switchable mic
-cue phones with fading between monitor and master on the keyboard
-firewire connection (no need for power supply if you have a 6 pin firewire slot on the pc)
-~400 euro

you can pretty well do it fine without a hardware mixer, just assigning channels on the faders

sure there are lot's of other keyboards with audiocard doing well this job for this price or even less.

bye, have fun with your consolle, i've tried it and found it solid to handle too, would hardly get back to classic hardware cdj's.
