Hey all.

For those of you waiting for your CD copy of OCTOBER REVOLUTION, it will be sent out after I return from Vacation, some time after Dec. 1.

But for now, you can listen to it online at my website:

http://www.freaknation.com/~djfanboy/index4.html

Along with two other mixes.

Enjoy!

Thank you thank you thank you

...and thank YOU, Karma, for posting the tracklisting. Saves me some keystrokes...

Enjoy! They'll be up for a few more weeks, then I'll rotate them out with others - hopefully including my next mix, STARFIGHTER.

...well, it's going to be another while before CD copies are sent out. While I was away on Vacation these past 2 weeks, the ceiling in the living room of my apt. became a watershed.

My roomie and friends got all the furniture out and the building people have ripped open the ceiling and fixed things.

They've also ripped out the carpeting and are in the process of replacing it. I'm taking this opportunity to repaint the place and get rid of a lot of shite that I've held onto for too long, and reworking the place into a better home.

Anyway, my 'puter at home is down and will be so for at least the rest of the week. So look for CD copies to be sent out in another week to two weeks.

Sorry for the delay - karma is being repaid at an extroadinary rate right now...

hey fanboy,

i have a quick question, which i was hoping you could answer, or some other member ..

regarding putting a set on isra - if i mixed a set (off original cd's) and wanted to post it online for people to listen to, and see how my style is received .. - is that cool, or am i going to get a hundred flaming posts saying this is music piracy and to respect the guidelines

i suppose i could stream it from somewhere - though im not exactly dying to go through the process ..

arrya, as best as I can describe it, DJ mixes are in kind of a grey area. If you're doing it for fun, to give your friends or your community something good (you think) to listen to, if you don't make ANY money off of it but do it for the pure pleasure of MIXING, then it doesn't seem to be a big deal.

Most artists are okay with it and some even encourage it, as it's a great way to get their tracks heard. Some people upon hearing a mix will search for their favorite tracks and then end up buying the original CD (artist or compilation) that it was taken from. So it's like free advertising for the artists and the labels.

HOWEVER, a mix made for monetary profit MUST go through getting artists/labels' permissions before being put out, otherwise it's more of a breaking of copyright laws and all that, and they can seek monetary penalties if they haven't let you use their tracks that way.

...I think...

yeah, im most definitely not planning to make any money off this .. hosting the file will probably lighten my pockets a bit, but what the hell - its worth it if someone enjoys it ..

hehe ..
