I was whatching to a video that shows some nice things u can make with Izotope trash and i got really impressed to some "tricks". For instance: The plugin allow u to select different ranges from your bass and apply different distortion presets to each range.. They show in the video this method beeing used also for drums and guitar.
U guys that work with this tool.. Does any of you make that kind of stuff in your tracks? Maybe this could be a nice tip to distort the bass?
Would like to listen some opinions! Thanks!

it changed mine too
isotope over a bass is a... ou.. is Monstrous!!!!
but u have to know how to use it because it can destroy also everything.
try this:
make some simple bass, that has good body and punch, maybe an ES1 is the best for this. apply trash, turn off every effect. go to the Trash box, and make it multiband. first it will make 3 bands, right click and u can add one more band. now move the first band until 40-60hz (depends on the bass sound) and move the last band to 1000-2000hz (also depends on the sound) so u left 2 bands. use one for the body and the other for the "texture" of the bass. where will be the middle point u decide. Turn off everything on the first and the last band, and start to play with the both left. apply the diferent distortions, apply the mix, play with the gain, with the caracter but not exagerate. one of the best dists are: slight harmonics, elastic trash, distorpia, cold soldier...
my opinion is not to use the boxmodel, the fuzz or the squash... just the trash and eventually some post eq or pre eq, if u want to remove clicks from the bass etc. But trash is GREAT!!! dont use the fuking presets, struggle on your own and once u got this fuking fat, hot, pumpin bass u'll undertand its power but play carefully.. this is a doble-multiband distortion. its so powerfull. If u apply it also over leads, samples, whatever.. u'll get inexpected and surprising results.
i forgot to mention that this isotope miracle was mentioned like one year ago by our friend cardinals cartel cheeeers buddy!

i thin there is lil confusion here...
we are speaking bout isotope Trash. Multiband distortion system. but thre is also Isotope Ozone... Multiband compresor and masterig system...
and there is also the Isotope Spectron.. marvalous comb-filter effect. highly recomeded... over leads, speach, breaks and stuff...
for bass: TRASH!
