Hey fellas, my HD breathes his last electrons in his long and fullfilling life and i wanted to know if there are some utilities that can help him to live little longer. Stuff like Norton Disk Doctor that i strangely can't find anumore.

Dude, scandisk and defrag on windows' system tools helped me for a while... That's the only thing i know! Good luck

Well since i posted this the HD's angel of death knocked my PC again and i had to reinstall Windows from the scratch.
Luckily I have almost all my stuff backed up and even more luckily i have a spare HD for now on. I'll send my HD meantime to reanimation sector. I hope he'll stay alive for li'l bit longer...

if a ide disk has bad sectors, replace it ... nomatter what you do, it will die, corrupt data, and lots of other evil things
scsi disks have hardware features to disable damaged sectors and are little bit better at this... still i'd replace the disks as fast as i can
