Discovery Automation problems

Does automation on Discovery work for other folks?

I'm running Discovery v2.0 on Cubase SX 2, and I cannot seem to automate it. I'm doing the same steps for automating other VSTi's, and it works on other softsynths (VB-1, Albino, etc).

I've run a search and seen two mentions of people having similar problems, but in each case there was no resolution. Any ideas?

Thanks,

-Alex

Maybe it´s the same problem I have with Atmosphere... U need to know the number of the knob u want to automate, and then go to the "midi piano roll" and choose it where normally u see "velocity".           LOADING...

yes i have had this problem with disco in logic...

what i have found is that the synth responds to midi messages in a midi part, but not to automation data from the program (and it won't write the automation or the midi if you tweak it from the disco plugin panel)..

but if you find out the midi cc number of the parameter you wish to automate, then write this into a midi part (with logic u use hyperdraw), it will automate

or what i do is have a controller keyboard setup with the knobs sending on the appropriate midi cc numbers then the knobs will tweak the synth in realtime, and you can record these into a midi part (i usually set up a separate midi channel below the sequenced one so it records into a different midi object so i can move and copy the automation independently of the main sequenced part)

hope this helps

for some reason disco doesnt give its controller list to the host, it understands only midi cc messages. use the key editors automation,it sends those midi cc messages. u can use midicontrol plugin too, but the key editor is much easyer i think just select some controller in the bottom where the velocity is. and heres a pic with the discos midi cc numbers..
