Bolenath! Few days ago I reinstall XP and all that stuff. I've installed the Cubase, VST, etc. like usuall. Then I opened the project I started to do before the OS reinstall. It was totally stable and played adequately! But now there's a troble! The "disc cache indicator" on the transport panel in Cubase shows 100%. And there's a little delay in sound every 5-6 sec... I use M-Audio delta 2496 (use ASIO-driver of it) and set the DMA-buffer to maximum 2048 samples, so latency is about 44ms... Got no idea, what else I have to do!Please, helpe me to sort it out if someone faced it before!.. Thanx anyway!.. |

first what comes in my mind is -> Background Services, so right klick My Computer --> Advanced --> under Perfomance go Settings --> Advanced tab check box Background services --> under Memory usage check box for Programs, Applay --> ok
another tip is after instaling OS is to do defregmentation of your hhd's, specialy drive where is your projects and OS disk, i tryed several defragmentation progs and the Best for me is PerfectDisk from Raxco!
Hope it's helps

ah i see, well install all your plugins to separate folder like --> C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins or anywhere else, in this case u can reinstall cubase any time without touching this folder

Ok! But I have installed all my synths and plugs to CubaseSX3\VSTplugins they'll be deleted after Cubase reinstall? I'm thinking about reinstalling, but afraid of missing all installed synths and plugs! So,this's the only reason, which stops me...So,how do you think?.. |

hm...if audio driver and cubase is ok, than u should look at your system...make sure that all system drivers r up to date....specialy chipset driver (download it from mobo website, if u din't do so), also r u sure that u din't change any hardware config since last good working point at the cubase project? ...also make sure that your onboard mobo audiocard (if u have 1) is desabled

Do you have your audio samples on a seperate partition on the hardrive from the one cubase is running on? If so this can cause serious problems with the hard drive having to jump from partition to partition. I had this same problem. I just moved all my audio files on to the same partition as cubase, including the temp folder. I also eventually made my harddrive just one partition again.
This solved my problem, hopefully that all it is for you too. Good luck

Do you have any other external device hooked up to your computer? This sounds like a sync issue to me. If the m audio is the only device installed and you have checked cables, hardware and software settings, it may be the audio card... this said, if you have a spdif cable connected to both in and out of your m audio card this can be a problem with m audio products. At least with my firewire 410 model. Again, if all the above has been checked it MAY be the audio card...
