no i honestly don't think it will be a 'disaster' for the electronic world.
if law enabling bodies and even labels can't do much to stop piracy of albums, i doubt they will be lifting fingers unless someone decides to sue.
most importantly yet, the world of electronic music and especially psychedelic trance does not revolve around what a court house Tennesse, dictates. i think we can agree at least 90% of psy trance is not being produced in the states to begin with.
yes it sets a precendet, and will be probably be an issue when labels can afford to give 4 million dollars in punitive damages. Before that people won't be bothering to sue where there isn't much money to be made, i presume...

well, it might be a disaster fo the rap industry if this starts a trend but i don't see how this affects electronic music or psychedelic trance? i don't think they are eager to go to court with an artist who sells under a 100.000 copies cause it's not worth the trouble and money. they are just after the big cahoona's who have earned millions with ripping somebody elses music.
and i don't see a problem here either...
