Hi fellows,

I am having a problem trying to install my Maudio Ozone in the version 5.5.1. of Logic. I already used this keyboard in my old computer with version 5.0.1 of Logic and it was working, but now I´ve got a Sony Vayo and I am having serious problems with this configuration.
The thing is, when I start to configure my window driver 2. and I enabled the option Direct I/0, the software ask me to reboot the Logic, I do it and then comes this message which says that my "DirectI/0.dll" and "Directlink I/0.dll" files cannot be found.
I already tried different versions of Logic and different Drivers from Maudio website, and all the tries turned out to the same message problem.
Does anyone have a clue about it, because I´m lost!!

Thanxx since now

I will probably be scolded again for saying this, but....

Try using a sequencer program that was written in the last 5 years! FL... Sonar... Cubase... anything! ARGH!

Not to mention that if you are trying to use Logic on the PC, you are going to also have a variety of problems installing Waves, it will be unreasonably difficult to assign VST controls to your Hardware knobs, and.... sigh.

Anyway, to answer your question... don't use Direct I/O, use ASIO, click the PC AV box and your ASIO driver should be in one of the driver selection drop-downs menus inside that panel.

Thanx dude, now I already can see the keyboard speaking with the Logic through the channels graphics, but still I cannot take a piece of sound from it...Don´t know why!!! Last computer I was using in the Direct I/0, at this time seems better at Pc/Av, but still doesn´t speak.
I will keep trying, thanxx

@Aeon
Logic was written in the last 5 years. We had the debate so please let's not get into this - and just try to help the person with the problem...

PC AV is the direct sound/EASI device driver choice.

for ASIO just check the ASIO checkbox and choose your ASIO device if you have one on your system.

You see the keyboard is speaking through the Channel graphic dB meter? or is it the small graphic midi meter on each track in the arrange ?

#2 @Aeon
Problems with waves - don't use directX (it sux anyway)
Problems to assign vst controls (don't know what you are talking about)

Basicly, I don't like it when people who use Sonar or the likes u've mentioned with problems that it will take pages to name them all, are talking about problems which don't really exist in Logic. The least I'd expect is some accuracy - to back up your debate - and it still won't be enough.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Sorry about my frustration, Trip, but, essentially... I spent a lot of time - too much time - with Logic 5 when I was in a similar state of beginning, and frankly, I wish someone had told me the same things I rant on about now - I could've spent a lot of time learning with more user-friendly programs that are still being supported and upgraded today.

I could've spent a lot of that precious early enthusiasm being creative instead of fumbling with a user-hostile interface that, in my opinion, is pointlessly cryptic and just serves to frustrate many new users. I almost quit many times in the early days out of frustration to unanswered tech questions, and when I finally figured certain things out, it made me even angrier to see how unintuitively the thing I hadn't understood was implemented.

When I see someone asking basic introductory questions about Logic5, I see the a whole series of other inevitable questions and issues looming in front of them, and most of them have irritating answers to problems that will never be fixed or improved by a company that no longer supports the PC platform.

If an established user is happy using that program and having fun making music with it, by all means, continue... but I can't in good concience encourage a new user to use a difficult program when I know from personal experience there is a wide variety of other programs available that do the exact same thing in a much simpler, more self-explanitory manner. As I said in my first post, I'm not even favoring the specific sequencer I use - from what I've seen, every other popular sequencer currently being supported today is just as powerful and easier to use.

Anyway - I will shut up about this from now on... cheers.
