I've been wrestling for quite a while now what to do....please give me your opinion or what you would do....
I wanna purchase serious audio equipement but cannot choose between
1) some good studio monitors (excellent for home audio excursions)
2) a set of mackies srm450&srs1500a (wich offcourse i have to rent out because of the high price...don't know if they are good for home use??)
well there you have it...
thanx guys and gals!

well K the others are more like a soundsystem, those mackies are high power speakers but i don't know if you could use them in your livingroom to play on a low volume?? I'm not gonna use them (for now atleast) for making music...merely for listening pleasure;)...
enjoy your behringers!

Hey man,

My friend has a set of mackies, and damn! what can I say? those things play it HARD! LOUD! and there's real quality in the sound! never heard something so perfect...
They're expensive as hell but if you're really into the top of the top, GET THEM!

ok man ...
i did some work 4 u ...
so sit down and read ....
i went 2 makkie shop in isreal and ask them about theses
2 animals - e.g. makkie vs. buringer ....
(i worte of course - a makkie shop - so u know they might wanna
sell it 2 me --- ok ? )
he said the makkie are better - espacially in the final mixing - he said they are more accurate ...
he said he had bad experiance with beringer which imtate
makkie ( not only by look ... )
he also mentioned that berringer are not so "shilded" as they
say ( e.g. - u can have problem if it's 2 close 2 pc / monitors
etc .... )
what else ?
mostly he said the berringer are cheep and made in china -
with cheep parts in it ....
but u know ...
he only sale makkies ....
i hope i helped ...
i must tell u - just see your budget ...
if u have enogh 4 berringer and not 4 makkiie .... ?
go 4 the berringer - it will jump your music level !!!
take care
k

Both of them will be better than what you have now (mini stereo system?). Just get what your budget can afford.

If i cansay some opinion i should go for the Mackie but not for the SRM -450,but for the HR-824 model i have a friend with a set of those in the studio and its unbelivable how this babys rock i have Genelec 2029 active and this is sooo better, but, expensive as hell!!
The behringer monitors are also good in the reviews altought ive never listened any!!!!!!!
If you can ear this Mackies and you will have monitors for life (no need to upgrade for better)
