Any recommendations ?

Beatports got an ok collection, some nice dubstep... but finding it way too expensive to buy full/multiple releases.

Juno isn't bad. Has a wide range and is cheaper than beatport.

http://www.junodownload.com/

They sell WAV format, but give you the option to download in FLAC format.

R.I.P Dance Records. They sold WAV at a fraction of the price of everywhere else...

Yeah http://www.addictech.com/ is the best collection wise but still 14$ per wav album, 13$ per flac album. Considering that I can get most of the same on CD for about 12$... there's really is no incentive to get on that train other than the few hard to find releases. (Tipper's stuff )

http://www.ambient.us/ ... $9 - $11 ... not bad and probably has more psychill than all others... but then it's VBR with a 320 peak. Not good enough for DJs.

http://www.junodownload.com/ ... 13 pounds ... too much like beatport

Dance Records was definitely a great one. Fake Science too. Thanks for the recommendations guys but looking to find something a little more niche like those. Digital Label-shops included.

Ok so here's the most promising one so far... and it's finally got the support of some solid artists.

http://bandcamp.com/artists

The service allows artists to price their own sound... usually between 6-10$ for flac... or gives them the option to allow users the pay what they want... so you could actually download albums for a pound or two.

One missing aspect is a way to navigate genres ...could turn out to be a good thing actually.

Here's some of the good stuff...

http://vibesquad.bandcamp.com/
http://tipper.bandcamp.com/
http://warptechnique.bandcamp.com/
http://thirdearaudio.bandcamp.com/

too many artists to navigate through so if anyone finds some nice chill/dub out here ... please do link!

That Bandcamp site is awesome. The new Warp Technique EP in FLAC for $3.27 USD? Yes! Please! Thank you!

yes, at that price it's a very big incentive to buy...
artists, take note.
I think people are realising Flac is in high demand.

Loving Bandcamp.... especially for the FLAC option.

Here's a few more from the Dubmission stable:

http://internationalobserver.bandcamp.com/ (all releases)
http://pitchblack.bandcamp.com/ (unfortunately not the singles)
http://paddyfree.bandcamp.com/

And then theres:

http://music.renamusic.com/ (Rena Jones)
http://phantomchannel.bandcamp.com/ (free netlabel, ambient and kind of glitchy modern classical or drone)
http://noise.offthesky.com/

Maybe we should start a Bandcamp thread, or just continue this one on with links to artists and labels...?

thanks for those Djschofield, there's a few holes in my Pitch Black collection so this will be a great way to fill them.

I think Bandcamp is going to take off as more artist jump on board. I vote for a dedicated Bandcamp thread.

Wow that's the best kind of response to something like this. Thanks crazybaldhead...you be a champion indeed. love the music and terminally itching to hear the band play someday.

@ Djschofield... a neat and clean, sorted by label bandcamp thread would be a good way to go. This ones probably just going to stay on the pulse of all the new stuff in the world of chill/dub digital sales. Saikosounds seems to be coming on board too.

We should also have one topic on some good chill-netlabels. Got some linked on the site http://liquidfrequency.com/links/
Shall sift, update and post a few of those on a new thread soon.

all the pitch black singles are now uploaded, plus added a free live ep for your delectation. you do need to give us an email address to get it, but we promise we wont sell/give it to anyone!

out of interest, what price do people consider reasonable for individual tracks? currently have them set at 99p but fear this may be too high. £1.99 for 5+ track ep's seems right, and all the albums are £4.99, but if even these are too much, would love some feedback. thanks
