This has been on my mind for a while now and I would like to hear other people's opinions on this.

I bought this double CD about 6 weeks ago and I was very excited because of all the hype and because it is two of my favorite labels coming together for what was supposed to be an instant classic.
They kept putting off the release date again and again, until it finally come out and since I haven't read even one word about it on this site.
Don't get me wrong there are a couple of really good tracks out of the 16 on here. The ones I like

Son Kite- Reewo(!), Beat Bizzare- Out Loud and Reefer Decree- Curved Air(!).
And from the second CD Fabel- the Bear (Ticon remix), Ticon- electricity (fabel remix), Llopis- Centrafuge (Son Kite remix).

Maybe my taste in minimal music is changing but I found myself really bored while listening to this cd 5 or 6 times. The production is spotless, everything sounds clean and in place. But the music itself is repetitive at points, cheesy at others, and just unoriginal as a whole. Maybe if I heard it on a really big sound system I would feel better about buying it.

P Woland - Lovely Wife (Reefer Decree Rmx)

I'll never get bored from this track           ..."Be yourself, let your conscience guide you...
Follow your heart, not the people around you"

Your review is just another sign for the slow fading away of minimal trance....

it is happening all over the globe, there is no stopping it.
like the "deep Trance" phase one or two years ago,it seems the minimal has become too minimal for its fans.
don't get me wrong here, most of the artists (especially Son Kite & Ticon)in that compilation still kick ass,but i guess there just arne't alot of places this style can go,because it's just,u know,minimal.....

hehe hope i won't cause a riot with this one it's just my humble opinion

well Mr.Hanky, its just there is small number of ppl who always look for something new and most that ready get same thing every day..
crosslink compilation supposed to be release a half year ago or something, then it was come as a bomb.. today we already moved to more (yeas,more..) "open" progressive sound with tech/house tuch here and there..
i,from my side can say about this compilation that its right about boring of some trax.. and not few... but..
but thats say there is AMAZING minimal/progressive compilation that u have to try before u say minimal is going be shut down - "progresssion" from plusquam, "dragon tales 4" from tatsu, segment album from zma etc,etc..
believe me minimal fans will not return to listen to full on or other powerfull and music lack music..
how do u say minimal is going out then every big outboard festival bring more and more minimal artists, make scando nights and different stages for this kind of dance music ??
anyway,u have nothing to be worry about, full on still catch most of the ppl in the scene, most of newcomers love full on and commercial org group know for sure what kind of music they going to bring to make big party.. just let everybody like what he choose to like.. but dont forget fact that trance from once (or banali full on of today) never was liked by ppl from other scenes, in opposite progressive trance very lovely by tech/house/club/everybody who like good mood mudic ppl.. isnt it Unity that we are talkng about for so long time ??

gotta agree with you mr. apocalypse, i was looking forward to this release for a while, then when it was released i checked the samples and was not impressed.too many housey influences for my liking.i think there are quite a few labels who are going down that road (housey!? trance) the change in style has only been subtle with some of the labels but it's definitely a change that has stopped me buying their tunes.i was really excited when i first heard the more minimal scando stuff, back then it seemed the influences were a little more tribal which for outdoor party/ritual music seemed to fit!
oh well,i've been buying trance for ten years now and many records labels have come and gone but the music that conveys the spirit of the parties always manages to surface somewhere!

Well zombi,
when you have a crowd of 13,000 people bouncing,
it really doesnt matter what you play for them-be it minimal or um kulthum.
it will work anyway.

but i saw so many "smaller" parties abroad where long minimal sets just didn't work.
it sure as hell good for the begining of the party ,but as a theme for the whole evening it's damm boring.

on the other hand i rather listen to this kind of music @ home than to full on for sure-
full On at it's basis is made for parties.
i have heard most of the comps you mentioned,it's all good(though i woudn't call the Plusquam one Minimal - since when is quirk=minimal?????? i think there is a difference between minimal and progressive,no?).
what i was trying to say,is that basically the minimal is a FAD - and it won't stay forever.
only artists that have made therye own style,
such as the digital structures dudes, will last through this.

This is my prophecy,
let us see if it was correct or just a pile of bullshit

i agree with u 100%.. and sure minimal will not stay forever and for a long time at all.. minimal also not mean progressive as u said and its sure 100% also..
its just most of minimal artists see themslef as a progressive (in meaning of the word as "progress = step forward what so ever") artists. realy minimal stuff already not so involved and not so many ppl make it.. but thats not mean they make step back, thats mean music go on.. forward as always..
minimal genre starters moved to other directions (but dont forget is still will be much more minimal than old fashion scratchy tunes).. plastik park/sunset/iboga/free form/mpqdx/plusquam/tastu/jum jam/spiral trax hard into new sound.. the soft progressive tunes and groovey spacey techno.. there is still classic minimal sound and magnetrixx/morganixx/lando will make it i guess for a while..
i believe from my side that nothing will stay forever and its good.. progress is a name of a game..
u see alot minimal sets that just dont work ?? im also.. but its not a music fall, believe me..
i like listen to progressive/minimal stuff at home/party/everywhere.. i guess if my mind dance so body will follow it with a option to space to dance..
again, i realy understand your evry word (wish i was so constructive in my speechs)..
and.. all its just pile of bullshit..           Believe your soul !

some funny stuff here -
i listen and so connected to this proogy/minimal stuff becoze it sounded to me much more closer to trance we all liked 5 years before than full on of today.. i mean im not so want experements, i just want dance like once.. i mean take this all time classic "spirtual health" and listen to it today.. do u hear this build up ?? do u feel trak take u high ?? level by level, new level after old one ?? listen to full on today and where the build up ?? where from have i to start dance ?? from the highest point in the trak ?? take listen to new sunset compilations that absolutely sounds tech-house but that have a build up and the story telling u.. trak ha-dolphinim ??? man, there is progress into the trak, where is progress into skazi/tip crew/alchemi stuff ?? i dont know if its possible to get what i mean (i dont mean its very smart, i mean i just print fast) but thats what i feel..           Believe your soul !

I think it's all about connections..

DigiBoga is very nice but I personally prefer remixes to b made by artists from totally different genres... Thus HomIboga or DigiTwisted could do the trick and be interesting as well as staying dancefloor friendly

What do u think?           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

that should really be a mixture of styles!!
