I believe that almost everyone is this forum spins a few cds once in a while.

Some do it for living, others for loving it.

So... how do you define your mix???
Do you prepare your mix before the party??

How do you select your tracks???
Is it before, depending on each party, or whatever pleases you at the moment???

I often try some stuff at home, to see hoe it fits. If I liked it, there's a high chance to do it again.

I also try to select my tracks before.
I choose around 20 tracks. And I try to choose a track, dependind on how the crowd is like at that moment.

How about you???

Note: Artists are also welcome to describe how they usually make their Live Performances.

Best Regards!

It!

I choose in the moment with respect to harmonic mixing theory in most instances (generally when I have time to analyze, write down, and/or memorize the relevant information). It's very time consuming but sounds twice as nice! What helps is a very well-organized binder (or set of binders) from which to select music... I keep mine entirely labeled and properly sorted according to style or mood whenever possible. Essentially, less time spent looking for the next tune means more time for the creative part of DJing that's my take on it anyhow.
