Hi!
When I bounce a midi-part to audio in Cubase SL3 the new audio-part is always a littlebit longer than the original midi-part. It's only visible when I zoom in a lot. The problem is that when I copy the new audio-file several times (e.g. ctrl + k), the little differences to the original file summarize and in the end no part sits exactly there where it should, the arrangement is messed up (only subtle of course but enough to annoy an anankastic perfectionist like me ). And it's stupid work to correct all that manually afterwards.
Does anybody have a solution for making a bounced part automatically the same length as the original file?
Thanks in advance - Martin

hi
1) to avoid the problem: you can set loop markers around what should be bounced, bounce it and it should have the exactly same length
2) to correct the problem: if your wave is a little bit longer, simply shorten tha end a bit (cut it!) and THEN copy the wav

hm ... dont know about doing this automatically. but maybe the problem lies elsewhere - do you have reverb or delay on the recorded stuff ? in that case, its logical that the bounced part is longer.

thanks for your replies!
I set loop-markers around the part with "p" (if i remember correctly) and then bounce it. and this is the critical point: The bounced file is longer than the loop...
Now I'm correcting the length manually but this is annoying, this is why I asked.
I'm curious if this is a problem only of my setup... If you want try this: Bounce a midi-part to audio, then set the locator to the end of the new audio-part and press "h" to zoom in until it doesn't go any further. Is there a difference in the length of the original and the new part?

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's...
Thanx colin I didn't know this was a known problem in earlier versions of Cubase (even though I use SL3, should it have been re-implemented?). It seems that there's no alternative solution than changing the size manually...
