a cool way to do it (different sound for each note)
have melody in midi
boune 1st sound
change preset
bounce 2nd sound
replace synth
bounce 3rd
change preset
boune...
then place all audio in different channels
same timing so they all play together the same melody...
cut to 1/16 all of them (scissors with alt)
now X everything
un-X one by one
if you get it.. thats how i do it. if i got your Q.
this way you can also delay specific note , or time strech or reverse... quite cool work.

ps i do this also for drums
but in this way:
record all drums to one channel
play this file with flanger
bounce - remove effect.
play the file with distortion
bounce - remove effect
play this file with delay
bounce - remove effect
also using many of the glitchy type effects here (effectrix live cut dbglitch)
and chop all
X all
un-X one by one
defintly how you get your loops in 'ordered glitching' or 'fucked up order that still make sense'
