Hey all...

Ive` been hanging arround stores and played with quite a few synths and I came up with one conclusion: There are synths built mainly for melodic play and others are built to generate strange sounds and disstorting them with effects.
My question is if any1 knows any partiqular make of synths that are NOT mellodic and if these are more expensive??

not melodic? ? any type of synth that has a lot of real-time control over the sound does not _have_ to be played as a melodic instrument.  The best sounding synths for this are vintage Analogue synths... do not be fooled into believing that digital "analogue" emulations can match their warmth, phatness and chaotic organic sounds...

There are melodies in the textures of sounds, the cutoff frequency on a low-pass filter can produce melodies, as can detune between two oscillators, these, with or without pitch melodies can produce extra-dimensional sounds...
