wizanda,,
all i know is,
goa is my favorite psytrance.
i know it when i hear it.
it creates a psychedelic flow i cant explain, but i love it.

for me,
goa is the most flowing psychedelic psytrance..

there is no psy vs. goa

you know psycedelic when you hear it.. flowing or not

Do not agree.
There are many Goa producers out there and many Goa parties.
Goa simply is not as comercialized as Psy and it's good that it's not because this way Goa does'nt loose it's spirit like many psy already lost.

Now what I think it should b done and I am going to encorage event producers to do is to have a Goa dancefloor in every psy party out there.

I know many of the psy newcomers want to dance their arses of to an agressive percussion and a powerfull bassline but if they try to elevate their conscience to the sound of Goa they will realize something new and understand what Goa is.

Goa is not dead, people simply have'nt been bother to promote it.

Psytrance is an evolution (debated ) of Goa trance.

People in some countries (inc. Hungary) tend to name all Psy "Goa", and use to refer to the true Goa trance as "Classic Goa trance". Which is basically incorrect.

"Goa elements" include acid flavor (not that darkish shredder sound, but rather TB-303). Fat resonant filters.
And the Arabic (Israelis may debate this ) scale.

For the laymen: if something remembers you to Astral Projection, it is Goa.
If it does not, it is not.
That simple.

And no, "Goa Gil" does not play "Goa trance" for many years now. Here, nomen non est omen.

I think you made a typo. You said "Astral Projection" when you meant to say "Juno Reactor"

Astral Projection (especially their more popular tracks) are a little bit more anthem-y than what I would consider "pure" goa trance.

I think the best examples of the "Goa" sound are Juno Reactor and, to a somewhat lesser extent, Man With No Name.

Maybe.
About Martin, we definitely agree. Evem that he calls himself a "psytrance artist" on his official page.

Quite unsure about Juno though.
They came the second (third?) time to Ozora last year.
And took nothing but cheese..
