yep !
vs is a short form of "versus"...i guess it's latin...you could use it to oppose two things !
for example: batman vs hulk
& just means "and" and it's a fusion of the letters "e" and "t"...that's why it looks like that.

...used to picture it as..
"vs." meaning that... the two or more artists involved were
battling with their sounds.. resulting in clashing and cool twisted audio fights.. that was back when i didn't really
know all the names.. hearing stuff like baphomet engine vs.. something.. or parasense vs samadhi.. thinking.. wow, that really does sound "versus" (to me in a good way.. )
(imagined that this went for fullon and such as well.. if not
worse even.. extreme buildup contests or aggressive arp disputes or something.. eww.. no offence intended.)
"&" was just two or more artist trying to really merge or accentuate one-another. which you could also hear in some "& " tracks.. great..
but neh.. some just call it -vs-.... some call it -&-
and sometimes it seems to really be VS and sometimes it's
really an "&" trek. or how about a track being released as a "&" track... but sounding more like a VS track..
devious grammar... ( repeat "grammer" serveral times )

but what about.. discussions.. thumbwresting..
super mario kart.. those are good battles..
Link battling Ganon atop Ganon's castle remains...
great battle.. the battle with the Demon God
from "Princess Mononoke" is pretty psychedelic..
in real life,.. sure.. collaborating is best.. but don't give up on
battles in psychedelic music..
(nor on anything else that spawned from fantasy) ..unless youre only into chilling..
.. i don't think that "vs" means 'battling artists' in psytrance most of the times...(used to imagine it)
struggling could be better maybe..
vs. indicates that the two artists were struggling with a
personal issue while they make the track.. ;P

I use 'vs' for dj sets, djs that not play together all the time. one dj style and music against the other dj.
'&' for production collabs.. makes more sense to me |
