hmmm ...
Generaly speaking the perfect speaker have no color . It passes the sound to the listener without adding or changing it . Manufactors of normal home speakers usualy add a flavour to the speaker to make it sound " better " . As i see it the more the speaker sounds " natural " the more monitor he is ... . In my studio beside the flat quality monitors i keep two p.a. speakers just to know how it will sound on a more or less normal system . |

I tried the search but it comes up with hundreds of topics that doesnt have anything to do with what I want.
So please, somebody give me a light...
Are the output cables of the monitors the same as the cables of normal speakers or does the monitors have some digital output that can be directly connected to the computer?
I thought that was the main difference between the two.

the output cables are usually no different just the frequency response as TeDer says. If you want to produce and mix accurately you need studio monitors. normal hi-fi speakers are usually more flattering to the sound or more bass heavy perhaps. they have a different purpose.
