they are usually sold in shops which have suveniers from africa and australia and such, at least in my country..
I wanted to buy one long ago but when I found out how hard it is I quit.. Now when I think about it its peace of cake compared to all those synths daws and such..
hehe checkout didgiland in my country, page is on english, they sell it too but Im sure you have some similar community in your country

didge-synths.. lol (well maybe there are even some,I dont know)

try the original... ave many I can say the price has nothing to do with a good one.If you want to buy one,its like with guitars ..take it in your hands and test it..if you feel good with it take it.
tbh my cheapest is my favourite.
I started with a vacuum cleaner lol in the early ninetees lol.
(and no my cheapest in not a vacuum cleaner lol)          https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

I was just saying, there are some random vstis out there.

I found some synths that have settings for a didge, but I don't really wanna spend that much.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

I'd be well interested in hearing how you'd go about that... I know Aphex made an awesome synth didge sound in er "Didgeridoo" but I've never know what he used to do it (I always thought some homemade thing). It's true there's a lot in common between a didge and a square wave through a resonant filter but I've never been able to get that hollow sound...           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Yeah man, I just got a catalogue of local didgis and I was totally shocked with prices, they cost a fortune now, like 10 times more from prices years ago when I wanted to buy one.. And they suck totally.. Man I regret I didnt bought that cheap and huge one now when I see this..

And ascension, which citar vst u got? Gimme that please..
U can ask someone who has didgi to record it and u can layer the samples..           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions

I was listening to some didgeridoo album a friend played me (can't remember the artist) and just though wow this is so like a 303 it was uncanny. And both seem to be able to induce trance like states.

I will have to get one one day. I keep seeing 303 everywhere. When I look at the time, till receipts in shops, the bus route near me. It must be my destiny.

I have one in my massive folder somewhere kevin. I'll try and figure out which one it is for you. It's not all that great from what I remember but I only spent a couple minutes on it.

There is also the option of making your own. A boy in my theory class had one made of pvc tubing which sounded pretty close. It would at least be something to practice your circular breathing on.

Edit(second link is the synth I spent a moment with called didgerimoog)

Sweet, thanks Brent.

Here's the citar, called Syntar: http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=295

I haven't actually tried to use it in a track before, I just mentioned it since it seemed as uncommon as a didge would be           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

PVC works really well as a didge, although a mouthpiece (formed from molten wax with ground charcoal for strength) is essential to stop you from cutting your face up. The longer the tube the lower the pitch; the thinner the tube the higher the formant frequencies. The tone from plastic is sharp and consistent, as opposed to wood or bamboo which can sound wooly and relatively undefined.

I got great results from using an 8' piece of drainpipe as a practise didge - it was absolutely massive and I had to make the funniest mouthpiece to play it at all. It used to take me 10 minutes to relax my mouth and enough and find the right pressure to get a tone at all, and another 5 after that before I could breathe it, but moving onto my regular wooden didge after 30 mins on the drainpipe did absolute wonders for my technique as the smaller didges were so much easier to play. Haven't played for quite a while now tho.

I gotta learn to breathe
so u basically keep the air in your mouth and play sound with it while u inhale through your nose if I remember good? ahh it sounds so hard..
And yeah, I heard pipes are good for practicing.. But they cant compare to massive eucaliptus didge..           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions
