I don't think I'll ever get over his music, nor find anything that comes close bringing out the same atmosphere and emotions he managed to. In short, both albums are (in my opinion) on a level which hasn't yet been reached. LOUD get close, but they're just out of range.

Did anyone here know him personally? I'm wondering what kind of person he was. Was he a "deep" kind of guy?

Thanks, I wasn't involved in the culture back then but I think it's testament to his awesome skills that dropping a 10 year old Cosma track can still whip a dancefloor into a frenzy, essentially wiping the floor with releases from modern acts.

Judging from that thread he sounded like an amazing, spiritual being.

generally speaking:
a work of art (music, painting, book etc.) is always an ideal version/image/symbol of something. the artist can mold it, change it and make it sometimes almost perfect before handing it out to the audience. it's not the same thing as a human being in every day life where you act and react without the possbility to "rewind and overdub".
i'm not saying some artists may (or may not) be spiritual and/or warm hearted and charming human beings in normal life. but what i'm trying to say is that it's good to bear in mind that art is an ideal state or expression of something and the audience should not make assumptions or create "over human" fantasies about artists who all in all are ordinary people like everybody else...

The music produced by Cosma was simply brilliant. One of the best psy artist I have ever heard.           Mushrooms make you do crazy stuff. Look at Mario he jumps on animal heads and fights with dragons.

cosma was and is still very much in a class of his own. his style was truely his own and i for one will always hold his music in high regard

i dont think anyone really comes close to his sound, basic draw alot of inspiration from his works and have gone as far to remix 2 of his tracks (moon is a god and emolight)

i didnt know cosma personally but if his music is anything to go by - the man was pure class           www.soundcloud.com/ishikawa

I find it shameful that his CDs are so hard to find and now cost so much.

I wish a label would reissue them, maybe even bonus CD included with compilation etc. tracks.

Mine were lost recently by moving company & it really is missing his music from my collection

Ps. Digital for certain releases IMO is not the same.           Cuntus Maximus.

I actually found a copy of Simplicity at a music store in Ben Gurion airport, so if you're ever in Israel...           www.facebook.com/chemogen

^^ i have found my copy of symplicity in a store here in portugal (media markt-they´re kinda a big supermarket record, music, games, movies etc etc and are not whatever related to psytrance), so i found it really surprising to find that copy there only for 12 euros.
