I still remember finishing the first part as an Elf/Archer,amazing game,second part i lent it to a friend and never saw it again,maybe its about time i buy a new copy for a bargain price.

I tried reinstalling it on a newer machine and well if you can get past the fact that you can only play in 800x600 it is and will remain a great game 
But yeah seriously, I'd prefer waiting for Diablo 3 and play Titan Quest to get my fix in the meantime (which is a real dignified sucessor to Diablo 2 IMO)
I don't use ideas. Every time I have an idea it's too limiting, and usually turns out to be a disappointment. But I haven't run out of curiosity. -RR |

awesome game...I really dig diablo since the first one came out.
but I think it will sadly take at least a year till we get number 3, since it wont be out before sc2 and this will maybe even take about a year in the worst case.

Well - when Blizzard releases a game, the next year they release an expansion pack, and only then something else. Therefor, much more likely than a quick release: Next summer Starcraft II (*yawn*), year after that an expansion, and only then D3, which is supposed to complete the plot from the first two. D3 and WoW have a rather big overlap in fanbase, and at the moment, WoW is huge (just recently topped Diablo II at top of the "most units sold in history for a single game").
There are complaints already - the fact that any character class (for the first time) can be either male or female (destroying part of the archtype charm - these aren't supposed to be "normal" people), the fact that the design has become much richer in color and even includes an occasional rainbow (aka "WoW gayness" in the words of Diablo fans), the fact that the witch doctor has replaced the necromancer (let's admit it, everyone would like to command undead minions... no?  ). But we will have to wait.

diablo is just overrated and overhyped  , i admit the 1st one was a great game at the time. it had a rpg feel to it and the atmosphere was great, but the 2nd one ummmm lame...to much focused on well hack'n'slash, and the storyline is not that interesting...gets 2 boring to soon, same with WoW...
the only decent things blizzard ever made are starcraft/warcraft as concept universes...
starcraft II by the sneak peeks, and from the vids at blizzcon is fully and utterly destroyed   i just hope they dont do same with the story/campaing |

funky, its just a matter of taste I think.
dII is defenately not just a hack'n'slash game, at least not more than dI was.
I still love to play it after 8 years, just bringing a new sorc in hell difficulty on battlenet right now.
there are also several things that make dII a bit more interesting, like the cow level or the hellfire quest.
so if anyone would like to slash some demons (  ) or needs some help on battlenet, let me know.

maybe but still shallow (IMO)...the 1st one has a lovely atmosphere and althou older (less developed in graphics and gameplay value) it had an oldschool fell to it, making it more appealing...for most RPG freaks (DnD, Fallout, Final Fantasy) i know the only decent part. 2nd one is plain grind gameplay, and blizzard refined that in WoW...u stop playing the game for what the game should be, and u start power gaming, playing by numbers, statistics, well basically u play everything but the game in a way.
and yes u can say well i dont do that (not talking about u just making a point), but u dont have to, the game is made that way so eventually u will, be that consciouslly or uncounsciouslly...cause the goal of the game is just that |
