Thanx project, you gave me good point of view.
Does Waldorf Q has keyboard or is it just module?
I am looking for a descent groove box like Quazimidi Rave-o-lution or like MC-505 is it better that for example Reason or Fruity Loops 3?

Dear Brain Detector,

1. There's a keyboard version of the Waldorf Q, and it costs approximately 13,000 NIS.

2. In a maximum 100,000 NIS studio, why on earth would you need a groovebox ???

A groovebox might be handy if you're going to perform live and in this case i'd recommend the Yamaha rm1x.

I have it only 3 month and I am selling it for
3,500 nis!

Ok maybe 40000 was too much... But still around 20000-30000 for 4 monitors is ok.

Man.. I don't wanna destroy any of your ambitions but more than the physical stuff you  must have some musical experience first and more than that..

You must have a sort of talent..

The machines won't give what god hasn't given ya!

Good Luck!

This is sort of in line with the topic, but scaled down... If I have a lot less cash than 100,000, what single piece of hardware would you all recommend for getting started? (excluding a computer and software). I know there's a huge selection, but I'm interested to hear you all vote for your favorite item!

Dear "this messege people"...:)

Before I will start I just wana say that good
Monitors of Beringher cost 7,000 nis (new)!

Now...

Groove-box as cool and all that but it shouldn't
come instead of the synth, but with the synth!

The groove-box is very cool to make a good
Kick bass!
But trust me (I worked with the waldorf Q), you
don't need no groove-box (the Q has great
line or kick basses:)

Good luck...and rememmber, any questions - come here!!!

Get a synth with keyboard - like a nordlead or the old virus.

Anyway,
a keyboard with alot of knobs is a good thing for everything. that way you will have alot of midi controller knobs and stuff... :)
A Waldorf Q or the Waldorf Wave XT are finest VA synths around. So for one peice of hardware I"ll suggest that.

That's the Action Hardware anyway :) besides there is the computer with all the cards and cables and stuff connected with the monitors...

Thanks for the suggestions. I already have a midi-controller keyboard (it's a rather cheesy Yamaha that I bought a while ago coz it had knobs :-)) I have been thinking along the lines of a Virus Indigo or some such.

Why the indigo? I mean of course it looks cool but isn't there a huge waiting list for it?

You can get a new Waldorf Micro Q Keyboard AND a Nord Rack 2 together for the price of one Virus Indigo.. Indigo is waaaaaaaaaaay overpriced.

my "Dream Studio" for 100000nis would be :

SSL (Solid State Logic)/Neve Mixing Board (About 10000$)

Lexicon 480 Multi Effect (5000$)

Lexicon 700 Multi Effect (dont know very expensive also :)

Manley vOXBOX compressor/eq/preamp (4000$)

Genelec Monitors and a descent computer with a good sound card and you got the perfect Analogue/Digital studio.
