Well I guess while others are throwing themselves at you I will reccommend some wothwhile things to look at.. I don't know the price coversions of these things since I don't live in Israel but they are all quality equipment... some are only available used though.. but all good for trance..
Korg: Z1, Prophecy, MS-10, MS-20, Monopoly, Polysix. Roland: SH-09, SH-101, MC-202, System-100. Roland: Promars, Jupiter 6 or 8, Juno 60 or 106. Roland: TB-303, TR-909, TR-808. Yamaha: DX7, TX81Z, TX16W, FS1R. Nord: Lead 1, 2, 3, Rack, Modular. Access: Virus a, b, Indigo. Waldorf: (Microwave 1, 2, XT, XTk), Q, Wave, Pulse. Sherman: Filterbank 1, 2. Kurzweil: K2000, K2500, K2600. ARP: Odyssey 2500, 2600, Odyssey, Solina. Akai: S1000/S3000, AX-60, AX-80. Octave: Kat, Kitten. Crumar: BIT-1, BIT-99. Doepfer: A-100. Elka: Synthex. Spectral Audio: Neptune. Studio Electronics: Omega 8, ATC-1. Touched by Sound: Syncussion, Mini Syncussion, Clap Cussion. Novation: Nova, Supernova, Bassstation, Drumstation. Jomox: XBASE-09, AirBass-99.
Well that's a small list of known equipment used by psy artists.. probably the majority excluding software synths and plugins and hardware effects, mixers..
As far as mixers go I would look at the Behringer and Spirit mixers, they offer transperant quality at a low price... as far as effects go.. plugins.. Waves, TC, Hyperprism, as well as the GRM Tools (Infected uses alot of GRM quite apparently), as far as studio monitors go, you don't really need to worry about amps, as most quality sudio monitors are bi or tri amplified, such as quality Genelec, Roland, Event 20/20bas, Tannoy and other good monitors.. if you need an amp (although I suggest you buy bi or tri amped monitors as they are of much better quality) look at Alesis, Crown, Samson, and Mackie amps..
Well hell I guess I've thrown enough at you.. if you have any questions about the quality of these items of what characteristics they provide, I would be more than happy to answer.. etherdesign@wi.rr.com.. Good luck!

God one serious synth like NordLead costs 10000 Nis {Approximately}. And add to it Powerfull PC with SoundCard {Pulsar} + Midi interface + Software and Descent Monitors thats 25000 and i even didn't started to count the plug-ins and effects and DAT and acoustics stuff. That's a lot of shit... |

100,000 is not that much.. and if spent wrongly it's really not that much.. But if used wisely it's enough to put a very serious studio on.
If I were u I would think first thing on which PLATFORM I would like to work in my studio -
Is it PC 3, 1000 + Seq ( which one? )+ Quality Sound Card ( Has to b )
Is it MacG4 + ProTOOLs ( lets assume ) with all it's components...
I say number two is a killa. |

One more thing -
I would strongly advise to stay away from ANY of the shops that deal with electronics and audio till the moment u KNOW basically what u want. That way u can avoid fatal mistakes that one may make whilst buying stuff just because that is what a certain shop importing.
After u chose a platform u have to decide:
1. What kind of reference ( Monitors ) do you want in your studio ( KRK, Event, Tannoy, Genelec to name a few )
2. What kind of a mixing board u want ( when u consider this u have to take in mind what kind of equipment u want to have ----------> approximately how many inputs u gonna need?
3. I wouldn't go for too many synths at once. Actually, I believe that in any case u gonna have very strong platform, then it's advisable to check what synth goes well with your style of music and purchase ONE ( but quality one ;-) ) and add to it quality sampler. With a worthy computer there is no problem not to have too many synths and so u can research the ones u have first better and record them to audio, so u won't feel the absence of more MIDI equipment.
Last but not least, if u go this way u might go cheap on effect machines ( don't buy 'em.. ) cuz u have most satisfying plugins on any of the platforms u choose.. |

O.K here is my dream studio for 100,000 nis: * Waldorf Q (8,000-9,000 nis) * Pentium 4 PC (8,000 nis) * Pulsar/luna soundcard! (3,000 nis) * MACKIE MIXER - 24 channels (6,000 nis) * Cabels-Audio/MIDI (400 nis) * Software (for free) * 4 pearless monitors (for surround) - 8,000 nis * Kenwood reciver (3,500 nis)
Excellent studio for only ~ 37,900 nis!
You see that 100,000 nis is too much! |

Ok, project. now all you need is a place for all that Equipment. a sound proof room is allways the best, and those cost a bundle to create. |
