I surelly try Check my album on Ektoplazm and tell me if I can surprise you in the end of my tracks
As for artists in the actual psy "scene"...
I find some progressive artists good in this, although sometimes they get a little too close to the part-break-final_part formula... Artists like Ace Ventura, Vibrasphere, Haldolium, New Age Hippies, Magic&Witchcraft, Tranan, Jaia, Cosma have some deep tunes. Of course old goa/prog like S-Range, Morphem and others are excelent in this particular point.
Goa is perfect for this kind of psychedelic structure, current artists like Artha, Magic&Witchcraft and others do it well too.
Prometheus is good in this too IMO, although the older the release the better Tristan still gets there too IMO
Of course there are also night acts that do it well, I don't listen some much to it nowadays, but liked some Electrypnose trips.
Of course I'm forgetting other names I still think the old do it better hehe (COP, Hallucinogen, Genetic, Hux Flux, and sooo muuuch moore )

andromedia indeed is nice! he manages to capture that sci-fi atmosphere of early fullon (and some progressive from that era) really well, which is very likely intentional as evidenced by this video:

Good morning!!!
U got me in a good Mood bro!
Amazing video, he never lets u go all the way down and when u think you'r going, bam! gallop bassline , stop! synths floating around! Bam! all in! break! first lead line again, cos i'm not here to fool you Those Leads are very psychedelic and seem like a very natural evolution from the early years and if the girls are dancing something must be right

Good thread mates!
I've got a thing for slow, hypnotic goa-like melodies. I find subtly evolving repetition is very absorbing for the altered mind. Also, like some have said before, those "archetypal" psy sounds like the squelch, the hi-pass resonant saw leads, and the good ol' roland tb 303 playing those mesmerizing riffs.
I've been into producing dubstep a lot lately, though - twisted, psychedelic dubstep, of course - and it's made me think again about what else i really like in psychedelic music. I find solid, non-cheesy dubstep with psychedelia in mind builds a really good groove that can be very inspiring to my body, and allow me to dance in new and ultimately psychedelic ways. I love dancing and also do swing and fire spinning, so this is a major part of the dance-trip experience for me.
Also, groovy uplifting prog - Vibrasphere styles, or Andromeda like y'all mentioned, just evoke awe-inspiring warmth and happiness on festival dancefloors, every time i've seen them.
Also, artists that clearly focus on trippy in their music - Logic Bomb & Hux Flux, the Zenon boys, etc... You can tell. And it makes a difference.
Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room. ~Kurt Vonnegut

is this thread open to some philosophy.
I've become convinced that the nature of psycedelia is inherit in FEEDBACK. sound feedback in this case.
Make example of a popular fractal, 'the thumbprint of god' derived from the formula Z <=> z^2 + c
a loopback system where z loopsback and chances z constanly to infinty.
maybe our essense can be descibed as a simple math equation. and our preception in this dimention is the loopback system, and so creating unique pattern persona via feeback.
And if scientist discover this fact they will rearrage your essence to solve for E,, and harvest your indistrucable energy.
This might also explain why a simple formula that represents a sound oscillation can produce complex unique patterns when introduced to our dimentional feedback system (our dimention). CYMAtic EXPERIMENT.

Often, you just got to start with something...and you've got to continue until you get a feeling of movement...but not a physical movement. Its more like a motion, an interest that invites you to "follow the rabbit".
So: when I'm in the studio it's more or less a process of opening yourself to that Stream, getting on that train and be the transmiter of ever-transending universe and spirit...the result is secondary, the experience(journey) is primary.
Nice thread

Nice thread!
That Andromeda track is really nice!
My general view on it is that there needs to be a flow, and its more about trance than psychedelic.
As in psychedelic, weird and twisted, and in trance, solid and flowing.. If you can incoperate this you got psychedelic trance... But trance will do for me, there is a lot of electro thats very trancey, and even the old 60-70ties rock is trancey... Infact a lot of music is trance, And i like this Fractal view on it

echo/delay has a much bigger effect when the listener is tripping.
The reason for this is that the mind's auditory processing center has a builtin mechanism that causes you to ignore echoes and while tripping this mechanism is disabled
example:
The ping-pong delay on the lead in this track is barely noticible while sober, but under the influence--holy shit!

Also--abrasive, scary, melancholy or angry music can have a profound effect on a trip IF it is followed by the opposite. The contrast of unpleasant emotion followed by pleasant emotion results in a sense of catharsis which is much more enjoyable than the pleasant emotion on its own.
Of course this is not unique to psychedelic music. The concept of resolving tension is as old as music theory itself.
