about your argument with the precision - the fact that the rotation is not constant can be taken into consideration if you work on that model. because you work with pitching. either if you take 24 hours or the rotation of the firmament 23 h 56 min or you switch spherically between both of them - in all case it is the very reason why you have a melody instead of the same droning sound all way long. and you get a sequence, a progression instead of a constant. and you can even work on the fact that constants in the physics might not be constant either - see scientist rupert shaldrake and for example http://www.sheldrake.org/experiments/constants/
it is exactly what i work on, and it is a further development of the basic model that wasnt done till now.
but you are right. going on the knobs is exactly what i am gonna do. since i work for every cent , i dont have such a variety of knobs as you . but time changes.
as far as mathematics and art is concerned, i worked on fractals for many years as well as on moving fractals, which is old fashioned nowadays, but it was a big thing years ago. and i am sure that some great piece of art can come the other way long - based on mathematics. i would like to explore it.
would you call all trance artists musicians anyway..i would not. i dont think much of mathematics while playing bethoven but i do, while opening a software. well at least if you wanna understand what you are doing.
