I quote Wako Jako ' what ever you make with hardware you can do today with only a pc. thats a fact. '

And I say if that is a fact then I am a Tuna sandwich and not Bacon Lettuce and Tomato

Virtual synths are a very nice thing but anytime I will change all my equipment with Weirdo Beardo and move to Sweden. Wako I bet u never played with Moog b4, and seen what sounds it capable off, what it can do that 1000 Reaktors wouldn't come close to.

Come on - cut the crap ppl... Softsynths are nice, very nice.. But only because of money barrier most of the artists that use virtual studio's today don't get themselves a decent hardware equipment.

Second reason for that - it's real easy.. u almost don't need to work on sounds.. everything is there.. just pop the akai disk inside and u got it.. so don't blame it on the hardware...

Blame it on the Boogie..           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

I was a computer freak who decided to go into music this year.

-Novation Nova
-Clavia Nordlead (reaktor??? no thanks)
-Yamaha guitar effects

-p4 1.7 512mb rimms,qdi motherboard intel 850 chipset ,matrox g550 , dual 21 inch but crappy monitors, adaptec 19160,scsi ibm 18gb,scsi ibm9gb,ide wd 20gb,ide wd 40gb, ide ibm 20 gb
Staudio C port 2000
waiting for my enermax power supply coming in a few days , my system is not that stable

phonic piece of shit of a mixer console sounds like the windy heigths of scotland at midnight, thanks to my soundcard i dont really have to use it.

yamaha speakers with subwoofer, amazing value for money, sounds great for its price.

reason 2
recycle 2
acid 4 pro (if they get it right it will eliminate all other sequencers)
sonar 2 xl
cubase sx just started to study it
soundforge 6
wavelab 3
pro 53
fm 7
absynth
plex
tassman
junglist
and hundreds of directx effects and other vst's
loads of audio or akai format cds, and reffils.
immediate future buys:
mixer, thinking between yamaha o1v or some mackie analogue unless do not have the cash i expect then i will settle for a soundcraft spirit

monitors i'll wait until i have the cash to get something from dynaudio until then i will settle with my cheap yamaha's

It was a pain in the ass to understand midi and its implemantation , but thanks to Paul White for his book "MIDI for the Technophobe" on Sound on Sound Publishing, I know where I am standing

Well... I have a notebook PC with an external SB Extigy, it does the trick. I'm always on the move and I play with sound wherever I go. When I've got all the pieces I could possibly collect together with my laptop I move on to our studio where we have a groovebox, 2 P4's, effects rack (I tweak stuff but don't look at the equipment's names, it really doesn't matter to me). There's a mixing desk and some samplers and some other noise machines here and there. Thats all.

Software emulation is an innovation and innovations are what make the world go round. So go with the flow. Personally I prefer software because I find it alot more intergrated and therefore more flexable than a bunch of wires and knobs. I don't really see what the argument is because if a track turns out to be a stomper then it doesn't matter how it got that way does it?

Jon: Hehehehehe.... There are some room under the mixing-console that you could move in to, but you had to share it with a load of spare-parts and some old drum-machines... (think there's a TR-707 and a Boss DR-55, and some old Apple-computer from early 80's)....

Well, as you might have read, we love to collect vintage stuffs!

Moog = Love!
