Thanks for the info mate but is there one for a mac?
Back to the topic it all depends on listening and for me from my experience i feel that hardware is a much better sound, more crisp, clean and strong than any software available. The Eventide is the best MFX unit your can buy that is for sure there is nothing compared to it's divine sound...That is our next step i think ...

I use my Lexicon via SPDIF so it doesn't go through the analogue stage. It is an interesting point though. Many hardware synths are digital but have analogue outputs. More modern ones have the extra option of digital outs as well as more people mix in the box now or use a digital mixer.
I have been meaning to test the difference of using the analogue and digital output options on some of my gear for a while now.

Ok my home studio sucks right now but I'm updating it every 27th each month:D
Right now
- Laptop 1.86 ghz, 1 mbit ram, 60 hdd and 256 external hdd.
- FL Studio XXL
- Tascam US-144(sucks with Fl studio!!!!!!)
- Focusrite liquis mix 32 channel eq/compressor
- Genelec 8020 A
Well as you have seen, a noob buy of everything:D I will upgrade to a great home studio within the end of the summer with.........
- a new pc with super power and no VISTA! (may)
- a new sound card, focusrite saffire (may)
- a new synth, probably roland v-synth (march)
- a new microphone, blue (july)
- a new set of studio monitors, adam or dynaudio (june) |

I use coax SPDIF on my TI, I have ADAT/SPDIF optical on other synth but have no interface to connect it unfortunately..
I would love to know results of your analogue to digital tests..
