Well Shiva.....I think you don't know what is psychelic music :S....When I listen a melody for me it's not psychedelic at all it's down to earth with or the melody must weird and with strange preset. This kind of music is for the mind. Not for body shaking nipple touch. This style is unpredictable but not really accessible for people who don't take acid or has never take acid. You must have pass on the other side of the mirror to understand. Even I listen one of his set 2 years and for me was not good for the dancefloor but really creative in fact. Real psychelic music is more the choice of the sounds and the mix of the frequencies which create the mind vortex. Anyway everything is a matter of taste

1st of all i would like to say, your music is way more psychedelic than the present derango and im serious.
and also i would like to add is... derango was super till tumult. till date that album rocks but the newer forest i get to listen to isnt psychedelic anymore including derango.
and i guess in my own way i can differentiate what is psychedelic and what is not.

can you find a more subjective word than "psychedelic?" everyone has their experiences as reference points.
from my experience, derango music is *veerrryy* psychedelic music that is powerful enough to turn a living forest inside-out until you don't even know if the sounds are coming through the speakers or from the trees.
i guess that means i just love stupid sounds and don't want to grow up?

+1 can't describe it better than that. Psychedelic for many, too creepy for others but isnt that what psytrance is about breaking barriers.Creepy mind altering samples to dance floor mayhem with a each new bassline. oh boy do we love these twists and turns or what ......

I Looooove Derango!
But to me .. i dont really find them as Forest-trance. Event Tumult... one of my fav albums ever... Dont really find it as forest trance as it is called these days.
Super psychedelic music... sometimes demented..with haunting melodies.. intelligent and multi layered!

I for one hope that this break they are taking makes them innovate again....to be honest i have been fairly dissapointed at their last few releases post tumult....im kinda bored with their sound...they need to do again what they did years ago with their music...they need to experiment again...their sound for me has become a bit stagnant now and a bit too formulated...too make things worse there are now a whole bunch of copycats and derango-esque artists cropping up everywhere under the term "forest trance"....
its the test for all good artists whether they have the ability to keep innovating or get stuck with their same formula...
I want the real deranged madness back...when i first heard those mad wobbly basses and spooky melodies and was like wtf is this??? Its gonna be hard to innovate like they did...but no doubt they have the talent...

Like they made any good music in France these last 6 years... 
As with all artists there will be tracks/paths that you tend to like more than others.
You grow up, I prefer to stay young... 
BTW. I see little "grown up" in your above statement.
