but i guess moving and exploring other electronic genres is just a natural progression im sure it wont take long before ill come up with a techno or dnb set =)
To be stuck in 1 genre is still like beeing stuck with the head up your own ass
imho |

as you requested about not being too generic in the feedback...
felt tht the last aero groove set tht u had posted had more mood variation... this felt like you were on the ball but too much so... in the end making your sounds very stable and less variable [and i notice tht with a lot of good prog sets - the intention to maintain a distinguishable sound all throughout the set leading to a touch of monotone] ... i hope i made sense... i don't try and get too technical when it comes to music.
b.t.w you played some twisssted music when you played in new delhi a couple years ago (the generator kept breaking down at night?) ... but i like this style. good going.

Hey Denis, as per your request, here is a little bit of a more details opinion about your mix.
first off, it's nice to see Dj's who aren't afraid to let two track's flow together for more than 12 seconds, so hat's off for that bro !!
Honestly, there aren't any technical mistakes in this mix (no off beats, ackward que points, structural defects) so you got that part tackled well !!!
where i can see some extra creativity is needed is really the Eqing of your "incoming" tracks. The Hat's layer over very well, but your bass transitions are a little dry. Maybe by gradually decreasing / increasing your bass's durring your mix can ease the sound of the new tracks bass (if that makes any sence).. basically, what i can hear is both tracks together, and then, bam, a complete 180 bass-swap, basically overpowering the previous track. if you can work on that a bit more, you'll surley get a better crowd response !!
it's still alot better than many label dj's who've been around for 10+ years though.. I'm use to hearing very lazy Dj sets, where the transitions happen in the dying seconds. And now with all those PC dj's, yark,... it's good to see some people who are purists like me ! hahaha..
Keep it up bro.
P.s. Now you will have to review my next mix.. lol www.jesterrecords.ca |

I take my hat off to Dr. Boombastic and Jester Records there is no way I could have gone into that set with that amount of professionalism not sure I
understand all of the comments either. actually thats not true I know I dont understand all their comments.
Hope it helps the artist. |
