Deleting presets on syths to make Original sounds????

When it is advised to rid of all stock sounds to make your own, what is meant?
Should I tweak every preset when I am using it to create original sounds?
Is it a bad idea to use preset sounds as is?

It is always good (original) to have your own sounds, so anyone can identify your songs by only hearing them... e.g. Orbital, Infected, etc.
Delete those presets you dont like, keep the ones you like, or the ones you think are tedious to program because after all you are a musician right?? (mod matrix issues, etc...)

When i create my own sounds....... am I sending them to a sampler, or do synths have option to store new set of sounds? |

I think deleting presets is a bit harsh..... better tweak the present ones beyond recognition

Well, depends on the synth. Some older ones have some presets, that can't be erased - and then a different store to keep your own sounds in. Some have one big mess of presets, and the only way to save sounds, is by deleting presets (this is the only thing I hate about Waldorf XT).
Any new synthesizer can store sounds. Only the reeeaaally old analog ones have no way of saving, and they don't have presets either - only knobs and faders
