I'm looking for a delay effect where after each delay is repeated, there are less high frequencies. Like a low pass filter moving down after each successive copy.
Have I explained that well enough?
Can anyone suggest a delay that has that capability. Without a plugin to help, the only way I can think to do it would be to have loads of send fx, each tempo delayed and feeding each other in order, with a high pass on. Nightmare..
Ideas?
Many thanks |

It may sound idiotic, but I've never had the need for one before. My usual delay method is to put a wide bandpass filter before a standard 'copy' delay and it always sounds nice and rich all the way to inaudible.
Now I have a song that would really benefit from the effect I described, I've not got any delays at all other than the standard cubase ones.
I don't use Ableton, so suggestions would be handy |

Just put Q Filter at your "Copy Delay" track and automate a LP filter...
For better results try also to automate another peak point, just to increase some resonance.

or u could just make ur sound in zebra2 and have a input into the delay that decreases. Its possible to automate all the variables in zebra using inputs from other modules in zebra. |

Hopefully this is just a stupid question from some type of missunderstanding: Why do all delay´s end abruptly? Of course i can put on feedback so they never end, but i want a smooth long fadeout to silence.. and when i automate any nob, (not just the ones like feedback that could be a parameter in how long it goes on) but cutoff or anything, the delay dont stop abruptly and do as i want..
Of corse i could do automation always,.. but anyway, im a bit curious about what im getting wrong. (also using FL, but doubdt that is a factor)
Atleast i dont feel like my even more non-"techy" producerfriend: -"All these delays are buggy,.. we need new a new one that works",.. ;-) (and we have loads of well known and good delays) |

you could try fading the delay in and out with an automated volume slider too, maybe. |

Also of note, the bit depth you are working at will affect the resolution & quality of those soft sounds as the delay fades out to nothing.
(i.e. 32 bit sound has many more levels of 'quiet sounds' than 16 bit does.)
