Musical deep diving! DeepDiveCorp. finally return with ‘Some Funky Fish’ – even more rhythmic and stylistically varied than their previous album on in-d. The new album features once more Ethno- and Worldmusic elements – thanks to Bahram Ji (Vocals, Santur and Setar) and his son Bashir (Thumbak) – on tracks ‘Brilliance’ or ‘Beloved’, but also a new injection of Funk and Soul influences enrich the well known electronica sound of Deep-Dive Corp. on this brilliant album! Bass-master Hellmut Hattler (from legendary German Krautrock act Kraan) appears on a number of tracks and on ‘Jiyou’ the artists even manage to deliver a Blues-track with Japanese (!) lyrics!
The ‘fil rouge’ on this album though is once again represented by that unique, unmistakably Deep Dive-typical ‘phat groovy’ electro-guitar sound! Songs like ‘Blue ‘ or ‘Slam Jam’ make clear, that there’s only one Deep Dive Corp. and they deliver once more the perfect groovy sound for your next party or a relaxed stay in your bath tub…
