well, i listen to deep dish for a couple of years, and altough their domain is House music, i always saw their music as a midlle point between house and trance. This year i went to a party whith them here in portugal, and it sounded very trance to me....not full on, but even so, very trance....
They are excellent dj's end their sound is very good, really made for the mind and the heart!!
I recomend it....

I allways said that the difference between trance and prog is very very thin (well not between skazi and Deepdish, but defenitley between Atmos and Digweed).

i heard Deep Dish DJ several times here, unfourtunatley they have been refusing to come to israel in the last few years.

Dr. Borris you are right. Thats the point, the line between house and trance is very thin ... And I guess that both of them (deep dish) don´t care a shit about styles. They play what they like and what grooves.

their music can be more hypnotic than any of this fast and banging synthetic trance. They are able to play long set without long breaks. Their music is running and running and taking you away.

keep on rocking!!!

salut to the groove

i agree wiht you guys.....
house or trance or techno are just words that we use to separate diferent kinds of sound propagation, rythms, melodies, etc...
but the groove is always (or most of the times) there..
sometimes i go to house partys and i can fly really really high, the groove is very intense, and deep dish is a very nice example...
try to listen to DJ VIBE, he's portuguese, one of the best Dj's of the world (if not the BEST!!)
hear him and you'll see what groove is..

get a listen to trentemoller and just tell me wich style he makes
tracks like :
yoshimoto - do what u do (trentemoller rmx)
trentemoller - polar shift
trentemoller - rykketid
Martinez - Shadowboxing (Trentemoller Remix)
Mathias Schaffhäuser - Coincidance (Trentemoller Remix)
the bpm is house, but i really feel if i was listening to sub6 or some groovy full on

Hahaah! Trentemoller is crazy! And so is Rex The Dog, but he does electro.

I've been listening to Deep Dish as far as i can remember. Their performances are mainly house-groovy, deep and dark with hints of tribal.
They have done a ton of remixes of pop artists, lots of vocal stuff-and that is to keep them above the underground.
Overall, you can't have a concrete definition of their style. You'll hear breaks now and then, something proggy, vocal, deep...it's all there.

Eh, I'd say there's a pretty big difference between trance and house. Take Stacey Kidd vs. Ferry Corsten, for example - they're nothing alike.

Prog is really a separate genre unto itself, and prog house and prog trance are basically the same thing. Lol... I saw a t-shirt at a show the other night that said "Prog is a four letter word"

They are both playing in Belgrade this thursday, so i will forward u my impresions abot the question how much they moved their music to trance.

And i agree that the line is thin, if there are any line at all ... Categorization sucks ...           myspace.com/audionova
