From what i understand of the question, is that you would like to know how to do it, rather than what FX you should use?
well this is a simple way:
Grab your self a bassdrum, preferably one with long decay.
load it in your audio editor, cut/delete the attack, cut pretty much, so there is no snap.
now cut some Db depending on how strong it is.(you can always boost later)
now go to the "Time/pitch" tab in your effects menu. time stretch the sample, i used a a Ratio of 10, but feel free to experiment, with length and Ratio...... now you should have a very deep long bass, now you can play around with it,add FX, EQ.. reverb, whatever

I have a simple question about a bassline and i don't think i should open another thread (it's useless) then i'll ask here: in Astrix's "Life System" in minute 4:58 - another line kicks in. Maybe it's not a bassline but - this is VB1? |

Sakoz - yes it is Vb1 the whole song, what made you wonder? and did you mean -4:58 or 4:58, you know there is a difference 
I think the whole album is Vb1.. but im not sure, maybe he can tell you =)
