Hard to find deep and steady these days with everybody so superficial and impatient, but I've been impressed with Disco Hooligans and this guy:

The absence of such music is a direct result of the absence of warm up sets. Everybody wants to play the bangers as soon as they go on stage. Every producer wants to make the biggest impression with breaks, in your face leads and general arrangement that unfolds quickly into the hammering parts.

Superficial and impatient is a nice way of describing it. I do like the tunes that slowly build up, without a lot of edits and crazy stuff, maybe I'm just growing old. Can we call this old people trance? Its one of my favourite styles

If he likes the style Ajja haves why not check out his other stuff, for me especially yab yum is very nice... Also all from Peak records would be your style.

Check out all his releases:

Well, I'm not really looking necessarily for "warmup music". I just want music that you can keep dancing to without having to stop every time the producer wants to confuse you with his fucked up break.

I think tracks should have at maximum 2 long breaks, preferably one, and the short breaks and fills should be spaced far apart and subtle enough that you can dance through them.

I grabbed Ajja's album "Psychogenica" recently and I really like the style. I'm looking for more like it. Specifically what I'm looking for:

- A deep, low and steady bassline that doesn't go all over the place
- A very regular, steady beat that doesn't have lots of fills and crashes (maybe one or two big ones per track, not every 30 seconds like in darkpsy) and keeps mostly to phrasing.
- Some trippy sounds but not so much that it's overwhelming.

I have two old spiral trax international vinyls (Dragon - Engen and a Gus Til record) that also sound somewhat like this.

I'm looking for both old and new stuff!

Stuff that is close: Some tracks on shapestatic's "Metaphim" (too much melody), Ocelot's "9 lives" (a little too crazy), and Spirallianz/the delta (not energetic enough).

The Delta is a no? Really....

how about Shiva Chandra?           assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

I love the delta/midi miliz/spirallianz a lot. It's just that they sound so much different from everyone else that they don't really fit into sets very easily.

I grabbed that Disco Hooligans album and while I love the tracks -- what's with most of them being in the same key?
