AfroGalactic Records was spun out of the world renowned Alien Safari...

... the Cape Town based party organization that has been pushing the button for over 10 years now.

Its reputation as creating hard psychedelic but seriously fun dancefloors has attracted more than 250 000 people from all over the world down to the southern tip of Africa - both Alien safari and AfroGalactic Records is associated with screaming dancefloors, ripping sounds, beautiful decor and majick people.

Here is the album bringing it all together and celebrating 10 years of dancefloor mayhem.

Style: Psytrance

Released: Dec. 2005/50

DECADANCE

1 S.W.O.R.N POULTRY IN MOTION
The compilation starts with this absolute groover of a track. Great funky bassline. The track progresses nicely. I like the open leads very much. Nice psychedelic (poultry?) sounds along the way. Excellent track! (8/10)

2 ELBOWROOM STRIPPA
This track is more psychedelic than the first one and also more funky. Will work on dancefloors during the daytime. You can see that they went for a very sleazy atmosphere with this track which goes well with the cover of the compilation. Psychedelic sleaze! There are some interesting jazzy elements at work. (7/10)

3 DMMT REAL MEN DON’T DANCE
DMMT released their debut album recently on "Freefall records". Quite a different sound but for some reason it just doesnt grab me at all. The track is made for the daytime. It will probably work OK but it has nothing special to offer. I blame it on the unimaginative bassline and leads. (5,5/10)

4 FROZEN GHOST MUSHROOM MAYHEM
Now were talking! This track has similar elements to the first track(S.W.O.R.N). It is more pumping and is better produced. The lead sounds have attitude and funk. The approach is suprisingly mature for a new artist. The lead sounds are huge. Definitely one of the better tracks on the compilation. The breaks sound very similar to the first track though.(8,9/10)

5 S.W.O.R.N SOUL SURVIVOR
Here we have a second S.W.O.R.N track. This track is much darker than the others and also harder. By this stage of the compilation you start to notice that there is a very definitive sound coming through. It is a different type of full on. This track will blast dancefloors! (7/10)

6 ZIGGANAUT SHOW ME
This track is a bit more psychedelic but doesnt stand out at all. A good "in between track" but nothing more. (6/10)

7 MAMBA HIGH LIFE
This track is quite hard. Made in the similar vein as the S.W.O.R.N an Frozen Ghost tracks. It will definitely work on the dancefloor. This is one of the hardest tracks on this compilation. It is more industrial and atmospheric. Nice train samples. (8/10)

8 ZIGGANAUT & OPTIC YOU’RE IN BUSINESS
One of the most psychedelic tracks on the album. The flow is less "straight forward" if you know what I mean. It gets quite busy but I like it. (7/10)

9 ZION LINGUIST TECHNO WEIRDO
This track has a good bass 'n kick. Some of the leads are nice. But overall the track isn't going anywhere. It also has many of the same elements of the S.W.O.R.N and Frozen Ghost tracks. (5.7/10)

10 LOST & FOUND ENGINE EAR
Hands down the best track on the album. Very strange intro and a blasting kick and bassline. It goes completely psychedelic as it progresses. There are some drastic changes along the way and great tension. A killer lead comes in towards the end which makes for a menacing climax. Can't wait to hear more! (9,5/10)

Afrogalactic have always been good at spotting new talent. In 2002 already they have released tracks from Rinkadink,Damage,Shift and Xatrik. The artists on "Decadance" are no different. Watch the artists on this compilation over the next 2 years.

This disc is definitely worth getting. It is pumping but not in a ordinary way. It sounds like nothing else out there...

i really liked tracks 1,4,5, and 6. if i remember correctly s.w.o.r.n. is a project by frozen ghost, zigganaut and zion linguist, that could account for the similarity between the frozen ghost and s.w.o.r.n. tracks. anyways great review .           www.soundcloud.com/ishikawa
