i say hi everyone
Im starting this thread to ask a few things for those who already have experiences with live / label.
1) if you are accepted on a label, how is the process? have any contract, any restriction, requirement?
You are charged for the label to release many tracks in a month or something like that. Or 1 cd por year etc.....
2) Do you have any idea average price for a live? I know it varies a lot,
But to live a new, unknown, but of good quality,
What would be a good suggestion for price?
What else is usually part of the package? Price of live, host (hotel? Owner party houses?)? Any information is welcome on your experience in playing party
I'll start with these questions
Im appreciate any replys.

Hey there,
Most, if not all labels will have a contract that you both sign and agree on. now what that contract will include will usually be- terms, how long the contract is valid for, payment info, personal/artist info, release info, and other such things, but every label is different according to what their preferences are, some labels for instance will offer free mastering for your tracks that will be released, others will not. Another thing to take into consideration is that some labels will work primarily off net-releases (Beatport, itunes, free downloads etc...) but its something you are going to have to discuss with the label manager...
About live pa's and gigs- every label will approach this differently. some will act like your booking agent (if they offer artist to be booked) which is nice but you will have all your pricing info and such in the contract. If your working solo for gigs- what you charge is up to you, but if your doing a live act I would charge a bit more(100+ USD) for starting out, then go from there. But if you are playing a dj set, i wouldn't charge as much, maybe 50+ USD to start with or something, but honestly it all depends on you, your label, and/or your booking agent more specifically. I know if you are just starting out ,doing a few free gigs helps but after a few shows if you still are getting booked well then charging isn't a bad idea, imho hope it helps BoOm!
