DC stands for what is not AC... Which is, I believe, "alternating current"..? I'll get my dictionary.

Aaah, just looked it up: DC is for "direct current" - different programs may remove this differently. Some thoughtless algorithms calculate the mean sample-value, and subtracts that from the entire signal... Not the best way, but easy to implement
