Enough with ableton ... i'am done! i want to come back with my old cubase sx3 i think the best stable version ! Ableton is good one ! But its don't have enough that powerful sample editing options and surface of cubase more comfortable ! One more thing , when you open to much vst in ableton he give some error do not enough memory ! what the f-k johny ? I want to work freely!

Interesting topic ! Finally some one who put the truth ahead and seems understand what he is talking about , I say so years but seems all peoples around not listening (Or dont want to listen) - I find theres some limited daw's (Sound point , The sound is not real/Natural) - And the users can keep and say 'Myn is the best' I dont care .. Realy .. This is not the truth , There is limited daw's around and we can't do nothing .
About Cubase .. This is true ! , I tell you somthing .. I usualy like start project on the 3 Then bring it into the 5 and keep the work there , Imo Nuendo 4 is the most stable daw , Use to work with at the time when work on TechTrance when you need an real massive , But for Dark i like the Cubase .
You know .. Alot of peoples will never understand this (Or dont want belive it even they know there deep inside its right) Its may be sad for some peoples but over this this is the true .

what are you talking about guys?!
I really don't get it
as orange said, if you dont have memory you just dont have memory that's it.
I dont use ableton but I wonder what kind of sample editing you're looking for..what do you usually do to your sample?!cut it?put fx on it?stretch it?
Doesnt ableton have this editing feature?

actually Ableton is great for CPU since it automaticaly loads off all synth and effects when they are just not in use. BOunce .. cubase is great though.

You're complaining with today's technology?
I don't use Ableton, but I know people that make killer music on it...it is just fine.
We generally have it made in terms of CPU resources and available plug ins.
You should have been around in the Tracker and Atari ST version of Cubase, days... when audio plug ins did not even exist.
Start bouncing things down and work with audio and generally become more efficient with your CPU.
All DAWs crash if you load too many VSTs.
Peace out.

It is funny when you hear people saying any of the big DAWs are better than the rest for a certain style of dance music, considering there are so many 3rd party plug ins these days.
Peace out.

I really dont get how the surface/UI of cubase shoul be more comfortable than than Ableton.
One of the reasons I switched to Ableton is that I found the UI of Cubase was not intuitive enough and easy to use.
All a matter of personal taste I would say, but I really cant understand your arguments here tbh.
  My first track:

my first contact was FL - it helped me a lot in the beginning to get out a tone (cubase fail/ableton fail)
my first bassline i got with cubase (thx isratrance, thx mike A )
than i tryed ableton, worked a lil bit with and
moved back to FL, from than i got "really good" results with it...
than i tryed ableton again and since that im ableton addicted!
its very personal wich is "made for you"
btw one artist i know is OTT who do with ableton

Orange,Nabla - not exactly , just try to open 10 vst's and insert effects
On them , send effects , ... In one moment you will get the angry message , or maby you will unable to open one more effect or vst, that the problem ! If you will check you pc for the usage you will see that you have 1.5 gb freely running ,
so... In cubase you can blow to smoke you pc , until it power down you building . no worrings about maximum vsts ,only Firedept maby .
Cardinals cartel
I'am really happy that we found ourself in the same line of processing daw , and yes its the true that ableton have limitations of vsts and plugins , but it f-g good one sequenser for live performance and creation but limited , and sorry for that , maby next version of live will be changed for that feautures.
Willsanquil
Try this one ...................dance ejay . Most stable ... Not personal just try to create 5 tracks with cubase or ableton , and beleave you will stay with one of this daws forever !
Disco hooligans
The setup is more than enough powerful
Cpu quad 9400. 4 gigs ram , running on separate hd with winxp , no games , no shit on ... , rme external .., no cpu overloading at all , in cubase you can open and work over 500ms more than 15 vsts and effects to get mid load , not going down to 200 ms don't need to .... no errors no crashes free feeling to work with .

definetly not. Also as much as I do love cubase too it's not that light for the CPU - for good reasons.
Something is wrong with your PC most probably, some virus shit maybe.
Ableton should be the most light for CPU --- for the reason I mentioned already. Or maybe not really light but stability.
Personaly I don't use Ableton much but this is a special about Ableton. No other sequencer has this as far as I know.
