YES, the pioneer of psychedelic music will be touring 4 US cities in April! Tickets are sold out, but you can get tickets from secondary websites like ticketsnow.com. Are there any psytrance parties in SF area April 13-18? Please let me know! PEACE           AUDIO VIRUS ( DJ )

an absolute ton. King tubby and Pink Floyd had a very big part in the development of electronic effects and synthesizers.

Listen guys the fact that most “psyheads” love Pink Floyd and a lots of artists in the scene are influenced by their music does not make it psytrance related, it is psychedelic rock and a totally different music style. Now days a lot of younger generation in our scene are influenced by heavy metal and hard rock, so we should next time post Iron Maiden‘s show ? Now as I stated I am a big admirer of Pink Floyd but let’s stay on topic and it is psytrance music.

I just do not agree with you. Pink Floyd are one of the deepest the roots of psytrance music and synth music in general. They made the synth a popular fixture in the public mind and showed the possibilities of entire kenitic peices of dance music made entirely of recorded vocal samples and Sequenced synthesizer loops. Sound like any music you know? We must never for get our roots. What you are saying here is = to saying. “What do the blues have to do with Rock and Roll I love The blues and a lots of artists in Rock and Roll are influenced by blues music but it does not make it Rock and Roll related, it is a totally different music style.”

Roots my friend roots...

Well said DJAmanita! David Gilmour started it all, and anyone couldn't be more relevant! But grguy means no harm, It looks like he's going to the show. I just figured alot of people would appreciate the post since most people have no idea he is touring! I'm there for both nights and it should be a wild trip!

I went for a Roger Waters show in India in 2001
and topped that by going for a Psy trance party;
it was a memorable night!

Both have the same spirit!

Well psytrance related or not I almost shit my pants from joy at the show in NYC, he played his entire new album first and then an hour and a half of Pink Floyd, Richard Wright played with him so it is half of a dream come true           <^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^><^>

ah shucks...he's just sharing his joy for the Floyd with us all. Although I think Pink's most psychedelic period was with Syd Barrett, those first few albums with Gilmour kept the flavor, with a more improvisational approach (at least on recording) than Barrett-era Floyd.

Not to totally reveal my age...but my first indoor arena rock concert was PF's Animals tour, when all the guys in the band were still friends. Fucking crazy show, esepcially for this young, impressionable, mind. Later I saw the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour. <end gloating>
