For over 15 years German production duo Jan and Marcus as X-Dream have been on the cutting edge of electronic music, constantly pushing the boundaries that others were afraid to push. Jan has recently been joined by American run-away artist Ariel to form Prime Suspect and tonight they may suprise us with some of their newest projects! With a spacious extended set for the crafting of a full musical journey, expect a powerful expression of the creative spirit which has made X-Dream one of the most influential and revered acts in progressive and psychedelic tech-trance. At this event Jan will be orchestrating an extended set with Ableton Live longside Ariel!

Tony Rohr - Voodoo Techno - LIVE PA (Hidden Agenda, Cocoon Records, NYC www.hidden-agenda.com)
Setting up shop in the beautiful borough of Brooklyn, Tony Rohr has had a steady output of atmospheric, yet dance floor friendly releases. Sometimes labeled "Voodoo Techno", his sound actually varies from release to release. Whether it is a tech-house classic like "Baile Conmigo", freaked out noise funk on the label Tonewrecker with Paul Birken, experimental chillout with group Carlito Verde, or a dubbed out techno stormer like "Yadda Yadda Yadda" his sound never quite gets pigeon holed. DJing in the early 1990's his next step was that to producing in 1996 and then progressively to Live PAs in 1997. He hasn't looked back to DJing since.

Back in september we brought Jan Muller and Krumelur to the Chapel of sacred mirrors with 28th day. Unfortunately the cops stopped the party at around a quarter to six. This time we go all out in bringing a presentation of what we consider to be the most cutting edge in intelligent dance music. We are hoping to give this sound the attention and respect that it deserves on a serious dancefloor in the united states.

Yes, in fact he was... and when the party at cosm got shut down, he played his set at the afterparty at 55. I know he was here because I had him picked up at the airport, hung out with him at the loft, watched him get paid at the end of the party at cosm, heard him play at the afterparty, had my gf take him sightseeing, and then arranged for him to get back to the airport...

Oh my God, the set Jan Muller of X-Dream played was so outstanding, for me it was full-on psy, but it was so new, so original, if you ask me it charted a whole new course in psy-trance. My whole musical understanding is revolutionized and my entire life changed and enriched by the set of this person, whom I thank. Thanks for asking. :] |
